>Emma Raducanu has issued one of her most confident statements ever as the 21-year- old Briton believes her lifting a Wimbledon trophy is "just a matter of when really."

>Raducanu, who famously won her first Grand Slam title as an 18-year-old playing in her second Grand Slam tournament at the 2021 US Open, hasn't made it past the second round at a Slam since or won any titles.

>But since returning to tennis at the start of this season following three surgeries, Raducanu has looked much better on the court and has shown some positive signs that suggest she is trending in the right direction. And now that Raducanu has managed to stay healthy over a longer period and that she has been able to make certain strides in her game, she is confident that major success will follow.
>"I feel good. I’m playing well and I’m training really hard, I’m doing a lot of good things and I know it’s going to happen. If not this Wimbledon, the next Wimbledon"

skybet has her as 11th favourite to win

    >“I have strong, grounded values as well,” she added. “I’m not just Emma Raducanu who arrives in a Porsche, wears Dior and flies first-class. I came from Bromley on the park courts, and I want to send that message out. People can easily run away with a perfect image or a perfect life and it’s not like that."

The difference between #11 and #205 is explained by the fact that they like keeping her visible on the oddslists for the mugs. And Top10 would be too ridiculous.

Well clearly Emma is better than 205. She's only that low because she didn't play for 9 months.

And she doesn't control how the bookies rate her. If anything it's the bookmakers that are defrauding people, not Emma.

Emma's real ranking is around 50. In her favoured conditions and when she's on good form, she's top 20.

The great thing about her passing on most of the clay season to practice on grass, is that people now expect her to play amazing on grass

With this, and the 'I'll win Wimbledon in two years' comment, she's going to look fricking stupid if she loses before the fourth round

i feel sorry for her tbqh. it's not arrogance, she literally won a slam as a first ever tennis experience. (literally went from A levels to picking up a tennis racket for the first time that summer to winning a major). she's in the gym, not playing tennis, not losing, therefore not getting her ego hit. every single Brit lost in the 1st round at RG. she didn't even turn up, but doesn't have to deal with what would have also been a loss. she's in a cocoon of delusion.

      >to picking up a tennis racket for the first time that summer to winning a major
This bullshit myth is so tiring. She was a junior player on the tour for years, with relatively little experience because of injuries (some things never change...) She then moved to senior level and played ITF

How the frick can you believe it's possible for someone to never play tennis until age 18 and then win a Slam? It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard

        Anonymous

Also, that thing about her not practicing to prepare for "A levels" is a straight up lie too. She was finishing school in a COVID year and they weren't doing those tests that year, but using the scores from the subjects at the end of the year instead.

She meant that she is about to retire and will be handing out the trophy to somebody that wins it, lifting it in the process. Or that she will steal it.
