Anyone else really looking forward to Who Killed WCW

For the first time we get this story without WWE's spin plus we hear from Turner executives. I don't understand why some are complaining about it. The Monday Night War DVD came out in 2004. That and the WWE Network show are the only times to my knowledge the story has been covered. The Alvarez book had his BS spin on it.

I don't ever want to meet the kind of person who actually wants another one of these. That story is done to death, there's nothing left to say about it. A massive waste of resources.

Guy evans nitro book already covered this perfectly with tons of turner people interviewed

second this. it's a really good listen/read. and despite Bischoff sucking the book off it actually holds him in pretty harsh contempt for a lot of the decisions he made.

every single story has been told. I never ever need to hear the letters WCW, ECW or WWF ever again. Add to that I never need to hear Montreal EVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVER again.

It actually looks really good. They will probably have some good footage and it looks fairly high budget. They have Bret, Bischoff, Goldberg, Russo, Nash, DDP, Rock all talking on it

All you listed was guys who already told every single story they have and many who are even retelling those stories actively now on podcast that are failing. It's washed. The story is fricking told.

I think the only new water tread is footage of a WCW camera guy from the few days surrounding the last Nitro. Sure the rest will be rehashed talking head pap.

genuinely what's the big insult or revelation that could happen to make this worth watching in 2024? Are the people excited just excited to see the same stories told again and thing about their Childhood for an hour? I don't get it, what's left?

I don't think there is anything that can be said about WCW's fall that hasn't been said yet. Even WWE's version isn't that far removed from reality.

yeah I mean WWE tries to make some of their guys seem bigger then they were at the time but like, even they basically tell the story. It's done. The sad part of shit like TNA and ROH not fully dying is we missed out on the new age of documentaries. Nothing notable enough happened from like 01-20

The AOL Time Warner merger killed WCW. All of the people who supported WCW lost their positions of power after the merger killing the TV deal.

WCW would have been like TNA and just kept going if this never happened.

What actually killed WCW was the fans. If they stuck around and actually supported the company it wouldn't be dead but they didn't want it enough.
