A guy that big who is a professional wrestler shouldn't be crying and whining like that. Kills the HARD JUSTICE mystique and exposed himself as still being the same dimeless indie shitter he has always been.

Well I don't blame him for being upset. I didn't blame Cameron Grimes either. Especially Cameron because I know much much WWE meant to him and I saw how talented he was in NXT, and he never got a chance on the main roster. But coming out and doing stuff like this is very short term thinking.

Burning bridges with WWE is very difficult though. Like, who's actually ever done that? Nailz? ACH? Maybe Keith Lee?
Maybe I'm coping, because I do wanna see Dijak go work TNA or Japan and get a clue and maybe return.

I'd like that. I've been a huge fan of his matches, and if he goes to TNA or New Japan I'll 100% subscribe.

He was making main roster money already. So he got called up years ago with the DOA T-Bar gimmick, and his pay got bumped. He was then sent back to NXT, but got to keep his pay. So this whole past run has been with main roster money. Ali was in a similar position, making that kind of money. In both cases, they simply didn't want to keep paying them that amount.
The following is headcanon, but I suspect that they called him up, somewhat in earnest, to see if there was anything they could do with him at that dollar amount. Maybe this was due to them being unhappy with what he was doing in NXT, or just thinking it wasn't the right fit, or whatever the case may be. And then upon getting called up, didn't really see value or a big enough change and decided to cut him loose. It's not unheard of, of guys being able to adapt better when increasing the pressure. They put Von on TV, for example, when he probably wasn't TV ready, but to push him to where they wanted him to be. Unfortunately in his case, he wasn't showing enough growth as far as their standards go.
Famously, Jim Cornette said Brock Lesnar wasn't fully clicking in OVW. But as soon as he hit the main roster, Brock turned out to be the guy who thrived while in the pocket.

      >Didn't he get drafted to Raw but did nothing. The frick happened there. It's like Mustafa being booked for a title match but then getting fired right before that.
It's because they were being paid main roster money (minimum salary is $350,000 a year according to Meltzer) and they didn't have plans to use either on the main roster. In Ali's case, and Dana Brooke's too, they didn't pay any mind to active storylines when they cut them. Being called to the main roster is what fricked Von Wagner too. I think if Dijak had never been on the main roster, he'd still be in NXT.

I definitely don't agree with cutting him because they easily could've put him to great use. He was one of my favorites in NXT and that match with Ilja blew my mind.

Grug was never called up, he just washed out, essentially. He wasn't where they wanted him to be, given the investment they had already put in.

He was called up in 2023. I don't blame you for not remembering because he had basically zero appearances. I think he might've been in one battle royal, but for the most part he remained in NXT after being called a "free agent" who could be on either Raw or SmackDown.

It was at the same time they did the draft. I think around Backlash in Puerto Rico, so like May-ish. But he stayed in NXT all that time and never had any storylines on the main roster, and no matches except for maybe the Main Event show for foreign markets.
