    Let's consider what this means.

The idea of "the Mount Rushmore of X" basically translates to "the most important and/or famous persons in American history at X".

So we'd need wrestlers that follow this same pattern in wrestling history that the presidents on Mount Rushmore represent in political history.

George Washington = Frank Gotch (first mega-celeb and top draw, broke live event attendance records on multiple occasions)
    Thomas Jefferson = ???
Abraham Lincoln = Hulk Hogan (not as old school as the others, but not as modern, was at the top during a transitional period, probably the most famous and iconic of all time)
Theodore Roosevelt = Stone Cold Steve Austin (ushered in the modern era, few since have been as famous, none as influential)

The second one is harder, because Jefferson wasn't nearly as iconic or important as those other three. I suppose you could MAYBE have Gotch in second and Farmer Burns in first since Burns was THE ORIGINAL. Although Burns was really more a teacher than he ever was a performer. Maybe Gorgeous George since he was old school (even if MUCH later than Gotch) and is probably the most influential outside of the three I already listed?

If you're going by that template, wouldn't Bruno Sammartino be in the Jefferson spot?

I'd say Bruno in the Abe spot. Hogan in the Teddy spot.

Bruno is only relevant in WWE canon. He never even got an NWA title run back when the NWA was the main belt in pro wrestling.

Vince/Inoki/Hogan are a must because they change the pro wrestling scene so much. I dont know about the 4th one.

especially vince in terms of a mind and the entertainment stuff he always wanted to do that was great, he may have lost his mind post 2010 in terms of creative but he's in my mount rushmore for sure

Vince won't shit on you, troony.

The image is accurate for who the faces of the WWE are. However, if we're talking about my own personal favorites who are G.O.A.T. level, I'd alter it a bit to get these four:

    The Undertaker
    Stone Cold Steve Austin
    Randy Orton
    Jeff Hardy

Mick Foley / Cactus Jack / Mankind / Dude Love would be my alternate.

      It absolutely has to be:
      Taker
      Rock
      Cena
      Hogan

If Austin hadn't retired I would say him over Rock, but it is what it is and the Rock is more deserving as the 4th slot.

    >Hogan, Eddie, or Billy Graham
But even that I'm not sure about.

Taker drew the house even when he wasn't on the top of the card for 30 years, except for a couple at the peak of the Attitude Era, and even then he was integral to the main event picture. He kept WWF/WWE afloat and culturally relevant during its darkest periods and was a boon for some of its most successful.

        Anonymous

Taker held the belt for a combined 36 days during the entire attitude era. He only really became a factor when Austin, Angle, and Rock all moved on, the brand split happened...and the streak became a thing in the late 00s....He was respected backstage but fans didn't really connect with him until the RA era cause he was a relic from a time when wrestling was considered cool.

          >Taker/Austin in King of the Ring 1999 was the highest rated segment in WWE history with a 9.5
          >The Ministry was one of the most memorable factions in WWE history
          >Taker was a consistent draw even in the 90s
          >Unlike Austin, was capable of reinventing his character without massive backlash

            Anonymous

Appearing in top rated segments doesn't mean you're a draw lol...like I said, he really became a top attraction AFTER the AE was over and all the top guys had left or were leaving....the reason Vince called him the greatest wrestler ever is cause he never left when all the other top guys were ditching him left and right, some even going to TNA....

            >Reinventing his character
Top lel m8, just say you're a mark for him. The same way these days I see people acting like HHH was a bigger star than he actually was.

So Hogan HBK and Triple H but you also need a 4th choice. Who is it? Bret Hart? Dwayne Johnson? Kevin Nash? Undertaker? X-Pac? Sting?

  31. 4 weeks ago
    Anonymous

    >Someone needs to explain to me why Undertaker deserves a spot over Shawn
Why not have them both? Undertaker's the best big man a successor of Andre the Giant a worthy rival of Big Show just like his brother Kane. Triple H is the King of Kings The Game The Cerebral Assassin the GOAT he's powerhouse brawler technical and hardcore all in one wrestler and don't forget he's also one of the best tag team wrestlers better than Hardys Brood and Bret Hart's family Hogan was definitely the greatest wrestler of his time but just like Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior he got overshadowed by Stone Cold Steve Austin I think Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is overrated just like Roman Reigns CM Punk was the last great wrestler but we need to choose a 4th wrestler for our Mount Rushmore. Shawn Michaels shouldn't be compared to Undertaker he's a light heavyweight even the narcissist Bret Hart admitted that Shawn was better than him and he also was better than Triple H just as Undertaker said Shawn Michaels was better than every other relatively small wrestler from Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit to Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam. Rey Mysterio is way too overrated no wrestler is supposed to be that small Shawn Michaels should have been the smallest end of the spectrum when it comes to wrestler sizes. We need a 4th wrestler but everyone should agree that HBK Undertaker and Triple H are all among the Top 4 greatest of all time!
