Clash at the Castle ticket sales are an absolute disaster

Per We Love Pro Wrestling:
>WWE tickets have NEVER sold this badly for a televised UK show
>No matches have been announced but it’s expected to be headlined by Cody Rhodes, who has taken massive criticism as of late for falling TV ratings and ticket sales, along with a general decline in interest
>As it stands, this event will either be heavily papered or WWE will be forced to bring out tarps to cover most of the arena, not just the upper deck
>Another criticism of the show is the ticket price; with many fans we reached out to saying they don’t want to pay that much for so little in-ring action.
>This continues a worrying trend of reduced interest in the WWE product, with once sold out arenas and massive TV ratings being replaced by sluggish ticket sales and week over week declines in viewership

I never understood this reasoning. It seems to suggest that the UK labour party crashed the global economy, starting with the us housing market.

Globalism is reality. Pretending it doesn't exist doesn't defeat it, it lets it win by allowing others to manage its progress. Honestly, Brits used to be intelligent and grasped this basic truth better than anyone. What went wrong?

It's not reality at all, it's some liberal fantasy that they want to force on everyone which is why there was a massive backlash and everyone started voting for right wing parties. Sadly the right is moronic and let the left get back into the fight not realizing they will just speed run destruction every time they get in power.

The Labour Party definitely made blunders that meant the UK was hit harder than it should have been by the financial crash. Of course, what people don't mention is that all of those blunders were things the Conservatives would have done with even more enthusiasm than Labour (deregulating finance, privatising so much infrastructure, etc.).

In addition, a lot of Americans think Britain is fairly small but it can be an 8 hour drive to Glasgow, especially with traffic, and Glasgow's parking policies are extremely commie and gay.
As for public transport, a retour train ticket will set a fan back about $120, and then there's probably an AirBnB involved as well, and a short plane hop isn't cheaper.

  15. 4 weeks ago

£500 suggests a lack of market knowledge. The EPL Manchester derby (city v united) is perhaps the most anticipated football match of the season in terms of how fast tickets sell. The best seats for that are under £250, and most are closer to £100.

Expecting UK audiences to care enough about pro wrestling to drop half a grand seems I'll advised.

  16. 4 weeks ago

I have no idea why wrestling tickets are always so expensive. You'd think, you'd think, you would rather make the money from getting people in the arena and making sure they get merch, and show off a big crowd of people on television. Yet every time WWE or AEW come to my area, it's always $100+ for "alright" seats. I get some money goes back to the arena but I paid to see a show live once and because the rise in prices, I kinda don't wanna anymore.

      Anonymous

I would not be caught dead at a WWE show nowadays imagine how embarrassing that would be, their shows have been better on TV but the shows always drag and the matches are usually pretty mid or complete shit. Indy shows have a much better atmosphere are cheaper and usually feature better wrestling, AEW is the better choice over WWE but also way too expensive. I never feel the need to buy tickets at all anymore, covid ruined the buzz of going to gigs and festivals for me its like all you get at them now are troonys and schizos

Wait have I misread this, or are the CHEAPEST tickets available in the ENTIRE ARENA the £500 ones?

That is insane. For shit seats at a UK wrestling event, the cheapest seats should be £30. The most expensive seats that are not part of some hospitality package should be £500 tops. There are only about 7 diehard wrestling fans in the UK, there's no way they can rely on superfans to buy up all those remaining tickets.
