Meltzer was shitting all over NXT 2.0 when it started. The dude has no idea what the hell he's talking about. I don't know why marks listen to him. His match ratings are moronic too. My brother who doesn't watch wrestling saw the main event of Wrestlemania and said, "If that's not a five-star match, I don't know what is!" Wrestling is about more than workrate. Workrate matters but so does looks, charisma and athleticism. The indie darlings he pushes tend to lack those things. The dude is a cancer to the industry. He's responsible for shitty state of modern wrestling.

They actually made stars out of MJF, Jade Cargill and Darby. They're doing OK with Swerve. I'd consider pushing PAC, Wardlow and Mariah May next.

Maybe even having set belts only for Dynamite and only for Collision. Then for Rampage that shows pretty much doomed, they'd do better with either extending it onto Dynamite or putting it on YouTube like AEW Dark.

You have no rebuttal. They can fill the PC with people nobody knows about, and nobody will care if they get let go, as long as they get a handful of regulars they can repeat this process forever. They can not do with with indie talent because its the same dimeless girls that will be there next year. There will always be a new crop of athletes gradutating every year.

the issue is the PC system doesn't force them to develop personalities, yeah in the old days alot of wrestlers were former athletes too but the only guys that could handle that lifestyle of the territory system were dudes who were nutjobs and oddballs, regular people didn't last long in that life and so you were left with a bunch of guys with unique personalities and they were forced to develop and expand those personalities to get themselves over, they had to win over audiences who had never heard of seen them before, they had to spend hours in the car trying to keep each other entertained by practicing promos on each other, they had to wrestle and work with different people in different promotions all the time constantly having to tweak and adapt their style and presentation, they had to cover their deficiencies and work with what they had, they couldn't cover it up with a flashy entrance routine or professional writers scripting promos for you, these fresh out of college athletes won't learn any of that stuff in the PC

I remember being told a few years ago by redditors that scouting ex-pro and college athletes was the wrong way to go.

I've been complaining about AEW's development back to the AEW Dark days. They'd have Dark be 2 hours and instead of letting the young guys do promos, skits and longer matches, they'd just have them do endless 3 minute squashes to pad rankings records. Not only did it not help anyone, but it wasn't entertaining. Had they let people like Perry, Wardlow, Darby and others do promos and matches on every Dark show, they would have done like 200+ more promos/matches and would have been a lot better at them. Instead we're on Year 4 with these guys and they are still not ready.
