Basically old people. Younger people tend to not have cable at all, which is why the WWE Netflix deal was huge. But coming in #3 on a night with virtually no competition and still basically relying on a "demo" victory is a sad piece of cope, considering their demo just continues to decline.

Nice straw man. I didn't say the demo was meaningless, I said it doesn't matter on Wednesday when only looking at cable from a comparison standpoint. Wednesday is basically NBA, AEW, and a bunch of Cable news and Sports stations. AEW could drop .10 in the demo and still remain in 3rd if you are only consider the demo and only consider cable and not streaming or network TV. What's telling is AEW keeps falling in the ratings and the demo, which doesn't mean the viewers have gone away, they are just switching over to YouTube and Network TV because AEW isn't that interesting. The NXT/AEW head to head on Tuesday showed what wrestling could be. 1.5 million people tuned in. Which basically means 750k people like wrestling but hate AEW and would rather frick off and watch YouTube than that shit.

That's barely more homes than USA and TNT are in. Just because people are subscribing to it doesn't mean ANY given percentage of them are gonna watch Raw anymore than when it was on USA.

            >That's barely more homes than USA and TNT are in.

Even if that's true, that doesn't mean they're gonna be interested in Raw and it certainly doesn't mean they're gonna be interested in viewing it at the same time every week. Netflix isn't an appointment viewing kinda product.

Most Netflix subs still have cable, theres not a huge gap there. And no sports fans. Most just want to binge old sitcoms and new dramas.

WWE is different from any other sports league since it's narrative based, and sports are all moving to streaming in any case. Apple has MLB, Amazon has NFL and will have Nascar next year, Peawiener has tons of sports.

Even if that's true, that doesn't mean they're gonna be interested in Raw and it certainly doesn't mean they're gonna be interested in viewing it at the same time every week. Netflix isn't an appointment viewing kinda product.

It will still be very easy to watch it afterwards, and being on the most popular streamer will definitely increase WWE's cultural relevance.

This makes sense when you consider WWE are scrambling to make "new original programming" about creating new stars, remember NXT was a replacement for Tough Enough which was created after Ultimate Fighters crazy success. NXT was a failed experiment after all, but it did help WWE kill the indys and UK territory, this must be why Vince was planning to pull the plug two years ago.
