I missed out on the age of French commentary in North America that isn't related to the Habs.

I speak French, and they are shocked because of the 2 goals in 5 min. After the 2nd goal, they even say that the USA deserved to draw.

congratulations to USMNT on their "drew with france's U23 squad in a friendly" award. fight and WIN!

i noticed english fans love american players but english pundits and media hate them. For example, Haji Wright on Coventry and Josh Sargant in Norwich both have a cult like following of English fans despite them being on championship side. I think we have 20 players in prem in the next 2 years

        Anonymous

media hate them? anyway small clubs have fans who are happy with what they have, they support their players instead of wishing them to frick off if they're not ballon d'or worthy like would most big club customers would do.

          Anonymous

english media hates american players, Clint Dempsy for example broke Fulham club goal record and they would always shit on him etc. You don't see that type of hate for americans in other top5 euro leagues

Foreign players are usually a novelty for lower league clubs. I remember when my local 6th tier club signed a French player and he got so much love, even though he turned out to be a fraud who lied about being related to William Gallas.

          based

          that's true

also, english pundits in this country are 99% ex-murderpool or ex-manure players who hate anyone who has gainful employment or isn't from their scummy corner of the planet, they don't represent us

don't people get tired of their bad takes? people Simon and Jordan are cringe boomers

pulisic was hated for no reason, he was injured most of the time yet still hated

            Anonymous

you know it's true americans are hated because of english pundits
also haji has more goals and assists than gyokeres did at this point of time, cov will either sell him for a lot or they will playoffs and keep him.

pulisic was pretty objectively a failure at chelsea, dempsey is considered one of the best fulham players ever, haji wright is lighting up the championship and getting all kinds of plaudits and sargent is a very high value young star whos recently injury directly coincided with norwich dropping out of form. US players are not treated any differently to anyone else and your insistence that theres some sort of anti USA propaganda in english football is unfortunately just another case of an american thinking you're more important in other countries than you are. We think its weird when americans play football because you call it something different and your accent just makes you sound awkwardly moronic even if you know what you're talking about. But when our club or any other club signs an american player, we don't hold them to a different standard, they're judged on merit

            Anonymous

any time an american goes anywhere near football in any capacity all english people can do is either roll their eyes or laugh.
and you know what? that's not far off what we deserve.

even though this is true, i just can't take anything seriously from an Englishmen considering how you overrate the shit out of all your players. FFS you guys think marcus rashford is on par with mbappe

Honestly I don’t know why my American brothers care so much about the opinions of the English. They haven’t been relevant to world soccer in my lifetime, outside of their own media talking about them. You’re just a micro nation with a loud voice

This is a weird victim complex, Haji Wright is a media darling right now after scoring a goal in a HUGE week for FA cup football, also he struggled to win over the cov fans because he is the clubs record signing and was replacing arguably the best player the club has ever had in gyokeres

To be honest, scores of U23 games feel pretty random.
    U23 Japan has been like
    >beats portugal, draws italy, loses to switzerland, draws germany, beats mexico, loses to USA, beats argentina, and loses to mali

U23 USA beat the shit out of U23 Japan 4-1 and I happened to watch that game because it was streamed on youtube so I have an impression that U23 USA is pretty stronk but Japan might beat USA 4-1 the next time. It's really like that.

My friend's younger brother played against Cade Cowell in high school and said he's the fastest person he's ever seen. Obviously being a pace monkey only gets you so far without good technique, and Cowell's first touch isn't great.
But it's interesting to see how far Cade's physicality is taking him
