Adventures 2 and Tamers were written by Chiaki J Konaka, the guy who wrote Big O, Serial Experiment Lain, Armitage 3, Monoke, RahXephon, Shadow Star, Texhnolyze, Princess Tutu and a bunch of other stuff.

He also wrote the stage drama for the 20th anniversary that made the big bad of the show the digimon embodiment of internet cancel culture and caused the western digimon marks to seethe, because they found his blog which talks about all sort of "conspiracy theories" about how five eyes nations use the internet to destabilize society at home and abroad by interjecting radical politics so that they are easier to control and manipulate.

Here is the English site map for his website.
            http://www.konaka.com/alice6/indexe.html
He made the site back in '97 and just adds stuff to it whenever he feels like it. It's very weird and kind experimental. Like random words will be links and take you to drawings, or scultures he made. He also doesn't really remove stuff from it, so links to lectures, music, or movies he made are no longer active because the sites they were hosted on haven't existed for decades.

Here is the Japanese site if you want the full experience.

Holy shit Dragongate has been bad lately. Like the only good show they have had in a month has been that cross promotional show they did with Noah a couple of days ago, and it was only good because Noah brought a bunch of former DG guy and it felt like the old Dragongate and not the weird bara fetish shit that most shows have been lately.

            Dragon Gate and BJW

Kino "old internet", the way it should be done

I use to love Dragongate, stopped watching in 09 when Yamato won the title, he felt like a mid level new japan junior and not a top level dragongate guy to me. And I didn't come back when the guys whose gimmick was "I run fast" beat him for it.
I tried checking out Pac's run, I was mostly intrigued that he would go there instead of anywhere else. It was ok, but sad to see how small the crowds had gotten. I did like Kzy a lot though.

It is not the same promotion you remember. They have leaned into trying to bait the gay audience way too hard and now it is leathermen and dudes with super fat asses. The only good thing lately is that they have been uploading a lot of old Toryumon shows from the early 00s.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. Shun Skywalker is just a straight up dude in a gimp suit. Plus every time Madoka Kikuta enters the ring I just sorta half to ask myself why I am watching this shit because I instantly start thinking about what people would think if they walked in when this was on the screen. Like the dude has the ass of a 50 year old mexican woman who had eight kids and the upper body of a 14 year old boy that just discovered the gym.

If you like the older dragongate stuff you should check out GLEAT. They release shows on youtube and it is pretty solid stuff. Not exactly the same, but CIMA definitely brings some of that flavor.

            >Shun Skywalker is just a straight up dude in a gimp suit
He's a delusional superhero/luchador. I think as far as costumes go, it's pretty in-line with the rest of wrestling
            >Madoka Kikuta has a big ass
I'm not sure what he's supposed to do about that

DG has always been heavy on the female fanservice, but dunno, there's a good crop of new wrestlers coming up and it's admirable that they can build them up within their own system instead of needing to farm them out. All of the Big Six (Yoshino, Shingo, Doi, Yamato, Tozawa, Hulk) are either gone, retired or a bit broken down, and it's past time that they build up people to replace them.

I just wanna see Kzy win the Dream Gate but it looks like they've passed on him.

            >DG has always been heavy on the female fanservice
No one has ever questioned this. The difference is they went from twink yaoi bait for the rotten girls to bara pandering to gay males. I am not gay and I don't really know a lot of the terminology outside of the stuff I mention, but when you are looking at something you can tell if it is gay stuff meant to appeal to fujoshi, or gay stuff meant to appeal to men.
            >Kyz
He's like 40. The time to give him big push was a decade ago, 2021 at the latest. The second run with the Brave Gate he got last year just felt like a consolation prize, like

One of my favorite dragon gate matches, I wish I could figure out what show it was on, was an elimination escape cage match. Kinda weird because it basically meant there would only be one loser and like 5 "winners", it was Kanda who had to shave his head. I would have hated this anywhere else but the the interactions between the stable mates, the heels shaking the cage when a face would try and climb out, all the face stables uniting to run the heel stables out of ring side, I think at one point CIMA is almost out of the cage and the heels threaten to unmask Dragon Kid so he has to come back down to break it up.. I'd do anything to feel that way about a match again.

            Dragongate and 2008-shutdown Chikara

absolutely wrong. The Noah/DG show was only good because of DG. In fact DG is the only puro promotion remotely interesting because they actually utilize their young talent when they are fresh and exciting, and not when it is 2 years overdue and the "rookies" are stale and basically 5-7 year veterans.

T-hawk is working in GLEAT now. Regularly teams with his STRONGHEARTS BROTHER the mad midget El Lindaman. GLEAT has a pretty good working relationship with AJPW so you get to see them over in AJPW sometimes too. El Lindaman had the AJPW TV title until pretty recently and lost in a really stiff very high energy match.

I hated what wooo became and how kirtaner and spardot let the website go to shit but gosh woootube really allowed a lot of young broke people to watch high quality obscure wrestling on a free, what a huge loss to wrestling as an art form

I'll check the last show out (is this the promotion that is heavily connected with the yakuza or was it another one where Cima carnied them?)

            Anonymous

If it makes you feel better last I saw Kirtaner was living in a broken down van down by a river. His diet consisted exclusively of canned tuna he stole from supermarkets. With any luck he will die of an OD or go crazy from mercury poisoning.

And no, GLEAT is not heavily connected with the Yakuza. LIDET is an advertising firm and manages the whole operation. I am pretty sure that every promotion is connected to the Yakuza in one way or another but this isn't like a HUSTLE/PRIDE situation where the whole mess is funded by the Yakuza and they are arranging fixes.

I don't think the promotion CIMA set up in China was connected to the Yaks. It would be pretty weird and I think the Chinese government would probably take issue with that kind of thing.

I'm gonna be dead ass with ya brother. The extent of my involvement in 420 ended in like 2006 or 2007 when I decided to check it out since they were shilling themselves so hard and the boards were pretty shit and boring.

I would occasionally use woootube when they were airing Japanese shows since there wasn't really a way to watch a lot of stuff live if you lived outside of Japan for a long time.

I just remember Kirtaner being a massive fricking homosexual attention prostitute as far back as 2006. His claims of inventing anonymous are laughable to anyone that was around back then.

I think there is a kiwi farms thread on him that gets updated every so often when someone wants to dab on his complete and objective failure of a life.

Metalseadramon is b***hed out in 3 maybe four episodes when dispatched
        machinedramon lasts two or 3
piedmon gets mollywopped in TWO episodes and I feel puppetmon has 7 to 9 episodes devoted to him and the shit he does to the digidestined has more of an impact on them individually and as a unit

I haven't watched indies in close to a decade, if anyone has any single show suggestions I'm all ears. I pretty much missed the british invasion but all those goes ended up being rapers so I don't feel so bad. But here are the must watches:

PWG, start with the first BOLA in late 05 and watch until Danielson vacates the championship.
ROH, start from the beginning, 2002 isn't all that great but it's an important transition in American indie wrestling. Where 3PW, CZW and XPW were trying to fill that ECW gap, ROH was not only being counter programming to them but also WWE. The code of honor was basically a kayfabe way of saying you weren't going to get a bunch of screwy finishes like you get on TV. You can stop watching in 09 when Jerry Lynn wins the title.
CZW, watch 05 (but maybe start with CoD 04). 05 was a perfect storm, Chikara had lost their training facility and briefly merged with the CZW school, this not only would pay off in the future with more well rounded trainees but in 05 it meant CZW had access to CHIKARAs guys. On top of that they were flying in PWG guys and Canadian guys. For 12 months they were THE super indie. After that you can check back in 09-2012. They had unique roster, and the most well rounded deathmatch wrestlers outside of Big Japan.
Chikara watch from 09-2011. The BDK is the best thing they ever did, maybe the most long term story in indie history. After that they got too far up their own asses, and before that the talent was too green.

But if you want something that's 100% worth your time, watch NOAH from it's founding until Go vs Saito. And before there are any accusations, I am cis gender and have had sex with my wife.

Say what you will about Quackenbush and the army of shitters, but Chikara, back in the day, was the pinnacle of the indies. As much as I hate to say it because he was a whiny homosexual who worked himself out of a dream job for many, the Archibald Peck stuff really helped Chikara out. Everything to do with him seemed to hit. His Mysterious and Handsome Stranger arc, with Mr. Touchdown killing his pet pigeon Sapphire was one of the best wrestling storylines I can remember in any organization.

Speaking of Stem-cell-sama I decided to check out Yoshihiro Takiyama's blog today. Evidentially stem-cell-sama has really helped. He can wiggle his hands and feet, and if someone assists him into an upright seated position he can hold himself upright. It's not much, but for a man who couldn't move anything below his neck that is amazing.

I also discovered that Fire Pro World sponsors Takiyama, and Spike-Chunsoft gives a portion of every sale to help cover Takiyama's medical bills.

Was ECW technically an indie? It wasn’t corporate backed, just ran by a guy who couldn’t pay anyone.

The term indie has evolved. Indies use to be where you would go to watch fake Doinks and fake Undertakers and fake Ultimate Warriors.
Promotions that you could actually watch without being there live weren't really called indies until the 2000s. Even CZW wasn't really called an indie until the early 2000s.
That said if ECW was around today I think they would be called an indie. They didn't really have binding contracts and while they had TV, it had limited reach and was really just clips from their home videos which were the internet PPVs at the time.
