    I despise basketball.
It is an amalgamation of every poor rule choice a man could imagine.
Making the nets so tall and the attack beholden to a clock has resulted in the most Black personest of Black folk who do nothing but pray that their 15679 shots per game get more points than the opponent's 35678 shots.
No defense, no intelligence, no creativity.
We all laugh about baseball being "luckswing", but basketball is even worse when it comes to relying on luck and not skill.

boreball is fundamentally a much better sport but MLB and NBA is true horseshoe theory on full display. both bloated repetitive borefests that are unbearable to watch

I agree that Basketball is a flawed sport, but there is barely any luck in it. Of course, ignoring injuries and off game stuff
      >No defense, no intelligence, no creativity.
      Now that's bullshit.

The main flaws are the height of the basket, the way the 3 point line was designed and how subjective some rules are.

Rinse and repeat for about a thousand times untill the score ends 140 - 120 back in primary school it got tiring and boring very quickly.

Just because you don't understand basketball offensive plays or defensive sets doesn't mean they don't exist.
This isn't your fault, it's the fault of the commentary teams who care more about box score numbers and fabricated storylines than they do about actual gameplay.
Basketball desperately needs a high profile John Madden type guy who can teach the moron-tier fanbase that can only comprehend "rangz" and making MJ vs Lebron arguments.

Better post than op's. Hitting the three is now become the overwhelming decider of victory. We must allow violence behind the arch to even this out.

    >coaches in NBA do nothing
They do a billion things each game and every coach is known for a flaw and a strong suit. What are you on about?
    >every team plays the same
Timberwolves don't play the same as Grizzlies. Nuggets don't play the same as Lakers. Mavs don't play the same as Spurs and so on.The teams don't play the same at all.

I think they should get rid of 3 point line entirely.
Setting an imaginary line, where a shot suddenly is worth 50% more than a normal field goal, gives a Mario Party mini game aspect to the sport.
But if americans called travels and carries, and stop calling soft fouls, it would improve immensely

In modern NBA it all revolves around finding an open 3 point shooter. The way they structure the offense brings more space, but it takes away the physicality, and the aspect of fighting for every ball under the basket.

    in the NBA do nothing
This is very very untrue in the postseason. It's true for the regular season, but in the playoffs a coach can decide the outcomes to games, and really bad coaches get exposed fricking hard.

a longer shot clock like 30 or 35 seconds would lead to more offensive diversity. right now everybody just quickly gets into pick and roll. you could balance this out by letting defense be more physical

Baseball managers are responsible for setting the batting order, making pitching changes, and making substitutions with pinch hitters and pinch runners. It's not much, but it's something.

Basketball coaches do a lot more.

What's to stop a team from having 8 210cm players that pop the ball in the net over and over?
Who decided the arbitrary height of a hoop?

      >What's to stop a team from having 8 210cm players that pop the ball in the net over and over?
The fact that the other team is allowed to defend the net with players just as tall or taller.
