      >make Swerve drop the belt to Christian
      Ah, a man of culture.
This is the only sensible choice.

I would work an angle where the Intercontinental or the Continental or the Subcontinental or whatever belt Ospreay has totally eclipses the AEW world and TNT titles which causes frustration, and it's Swerve, desperate to remain relevant who starts a title collector gimmick.
If Tony wanted to get rid of a few belts you could have him unify a couple titles here and there.
Then you probably have him do the job to Ospreay, in a gold vs gold, who laughs in his face, and throws the AEW world championship, and any others he's collected, saying they aren't worth the metal they're made of, because his International Championship is the TRUE PRIZE in pro-wrestling, BRUV.
Then you get to vacate all those other titles and have tournaments and battle royals and whatever to put all the belts back on people.
Or a fun twist could be having Swerve get derailed because his mind is on Ospreay and he underestimates like Mark Briscoe or someone trying to get the ROH gold, and Mark becomes the unified AEW ROH champion.

Don finally turns on Will for not listening to him and costs him the match. Will wins the Owen Cup to get the rematch at Wembley.

They will make Ospreay a belt collector and everything that Kenny did or experienced (i.e. falling out with Callis) to show juxtaposition between Ospreay and Kenny's career hence Kenny's promo on his stream saying Ospreay is living under the shadow of Kenny.

Swerve will 100% not be champ at Wembley

I expect Hanger v Swerve at Wembley but Swerve won't be champ. Maybe Hanger screws him out of the title at Forbidden Door.

I think they're hoping for Kenny v Ospreay but doubtful Kenny will be back in time.

        > I think they're hoping for Kenny v Ospreay but doubtful Kenny will be back in time.

With Ospreay as defending champion, you have MJF, Okada to create a real triple crown, and yeah Omega if he can return. All of those would be bigger than Swerve/Ospreay would have been.

Swerve is a guy who can go between both, he didn't change anything about himself he just started killing Christian and his flunkys as revenge. Him doing that then murdering assplay makes sense.

I doesn't. Babyface vs. babyface ends with the guy who was more over at the start coming out on top with the fans, so it will get people to shit on Swerve and cheer Ospreay, thus pissing off Swerve's hardcore fans who get angry at Ospreay and Ospreay fans. Damages both guys fr an angle that will not change the gate or viewership if it is on the card or not.

I mean that's essentially the FTW storyline except with a recognized belt, it's been done plenty of times before even decades before the FTW one. Midcard champ starts to overshadow the top guy who continuously weasels his way out of fighting him is a rarely used classic.

        Anonymous

At the end of the day their both his belts, so it's artificial competition, and there's no reason it couldn't happen in real life.

Kind of close of the ROH story between Jay Briscoe (Heavyweight Champ) and Jay Lethal (TV Champ) except it didn’t involve any other titles though. Jay had pretty much declared himself the better champ and beat Briscoe for his belt. It was kino. One of the best storylines in the past decade or so.

I can't imagine having a functional Jay Lethal under contract and not using him in a big way. He's a kino machino.

It's a lose-lose. Both are champs and will devalue their title by losing. If they are intent on making Swerve a star, then it's the wrong time for him to lose. Losing won't help Will out either.

Ospreay's title has no value, no one cares about that belt outside of that first string with OC up until the Moxley feud, after that it's window dressing.

        ProWresBlog

        I agree.

if swerve isn't a star now he is never going to be
The only thing that he ever got over doing is deathmatch shit which is what he should be doing now if he wants people to like him as anything more than the guy who stands next to nana while he does a funny dance

Yeah, I think Swerve is a midcard guy and the second he loses that title, he will go back to getting lost in the shuffle. He just won't have the pull or the power to get TV time over The Elite, Mox, MJF, Jericho, Mone and others.

I think he's in good with The Elite and Kenny likes him a lot. He's also linked with Hangman, they'll find something for him to do. Keep him far the frick away from MJF.

Part of the reason why AEW's in the booking mess that it's in is that it made knee-jerk decisions to capitalize on whatever wave was going on. I don't think Joe dropping to Swerve was any sort of a plan, only just putting the belt on him so no one could complain to Tony about screwing over a black wrestler. We'd be in a better position if Joe was beating everybody left and right, then Ospreay challenged in Wembley, or beat Joe at FD if they have a bigger match for All In.

Swerve doesn’t take the match seriously because he’s been beating every challenger. Ospreay upsets him at the ppv in a dusty finish. Following week Swerve and a new all black stable jump Ospreay and Wembley is fully fledged black supremacist swerve vs Ospreay

I would have someone call the police on Swerve since he swerves when he drives and have him arrested for OVI so Tony has to strip him of the title or job to MADD. It would then be revealed that it was Christian who called the cops on swerve and Will being a BBC cuck would face him for the title at the PPV where Christian would become champ.

DQ finish where Swerve turns full-on heel. For frick's sake, stop letting him be a tweener and send Nana home for a while.
Swerve drops the title to someone transitional in July. For argument's sake, let's say Christian because he's still the top heel.
Same month, Osprey loses the international title in a triple threat where an opponent gets pinned (the only circumstance WWE 3-ways are beneficial). Doesn't matter who to, the belt is worthless.
Osprey, still undefeated, and Christian start feuding right away and get Wembley as hot as possible.
Osprey goes over at Wembley and maybe the house doesn't get killed for the third show next year.
All Out, Swerve and Osprey have a no-DQ rematch. Osprey goes over again and stays top babyface the rest of the year. Hopefully the houses pick up a little with him still over as frick.
