Drones defend this then sit through a 10 minute Roman entrance every week and watch their little recaps that take up another 15 minutes. I checked the show out after it finished and it was uploaded in 2 parts that came to just shy of 70 minutes and that only cut out the ad-breaks. Sad.

Smackdown signed for $280,000,000/year for 2025 and beyond. Raw + International rights signed for $500,000,000/year.
If not for UFC and it's baggage weighing TKO down, the stock would have risen much more than 2.5% in the last year.

The companies giving WWE billions of dollars for their programming are not doing so because they expect 35 minute long matches with guys taking turns doing moves to each other, writhing around on the canvas while the clapping seals chant THIS IS AWESOME. No amount of astroturfing on niche websites, for $0 out of pocket, can compare to billions of dollars in real currency being invested in WWE-related properties.

The people with the access to the consumer information - not just overnight TV ratings, but who is watching the show a day, 3 days, a week later; what trends are happening on social media from non-bot accounts during off-peak hours - they decided that the value of WWE programming is worth bidding on, and multiple parties do so. The same people, with the very same information on other companies, have decided that those Wrestling outfits are in no way, shape or form, anywhere near the level of WWE as it pertains to producing compelling TV content, therefore those companies get no bids and have to take whatever slop deals are offered to them.

This is the truthful story, and you can either believe it or not, doesn't matter. Whether it's met with (they all cheered), or orioles.png/show stats.jpg/other homosexualry, doesn't matter and never has. Scoreboard. Bank accounts. Stock market. TV, Streaming and Social media metrics. Attendance. Those are the things that matter.

The common edrone (Stultus Fucus) has evolved survival mechanisms not usually observed in other wrestling audiences.

For much of the show, they enter into a form of quasi-hibernation, awoken briefly only for entrances and finishes.

During this hibernative state, they make very little noise and conserve body heat by placing their hands under their posteriors.

They are largely unaware of their surroundings and the content of the show during these hibernation periods, apparently surmising it not worth their attention.

This also at least partially explains their apparent addiction to video packages, as they have to be reminded of details they inevitably slept through.

However many leading authorities contend the edrone suffers severe long-term memory issues and perhaps early onset Alzheimer's.

Whether the drone forgets the content of the show due to acute memory issues or is simply sleeping through most of it remains a topic of debate.

          Wrestling isn't a fricking sport
It's a TV show about sport
It's closer to fricking Dream Team or Mean Machine or Gridiron Gang or Escape to Victory than to real sport
The number of people who believe wrestling is a real sport outside of troglodyte zones like India and Africa is sub-1%
Rednecks don't think it's real, they suspend their disbelief the same as metropolitans do at the theatre
The only people who buy into "wrestling is a sport" are the ultrasmarks, who are so fricking autistic smarky that they work themselves.
ANY attempt to compare to or present wrestling as a real sports show, rather than a scripted show ABOUT sports, is moronic and doomed to only appeal to self-worked ultrasmarks
Nobody wants it, nobody buys it
The ultrasmarks think that the dramatic elements are intelligence insulting

Pro wrestling TV is a television show
TV shows that are action without substance fricking suck
Pro wrestling TV exists to create the story and drama for pro wrestling PPV
PPVs are what you watch if you want predominantly matches
I'm so fricking sick of ubersmarks thinking that watching old matches online in a vacuum is the perfect template for a TV show
And no I don't even watch Smackdown or Raw anymore, all wrestling TV bores me, because it does nothing interesting to sell the characters and because the matches almost never have build or stakes they're either without build or just to sell a PPV
Late attitude era Raw (2000-01), 96-98 Nitro, Ruthless Aggression era SD, 2003-04 Raw outside of the HHH opening promo, 2003-08 TNA, all of that is the mix you want for wrestling TV, ONLY PPVS SHOULD BE MATCH FOCUSED

Based non-loquacious anon hitting all the key points

Stop making shows that cater primarily to fans who go out of their way to spend as little money as possible on wrestling. Some dipshit with 15 WatchWrestling websites bookmarked, a 12 year old cagematch account, only buys bootleg merch off Etsy and hasn't ever been to a wrestling show....should NOT the core audience you market to.

Putting aside your utter stupidity in lumping soccer in with the burger sports, you've admitted the only "burst of activity" you pay attention to is the wrestler's entrance.

When UFC was a failing company, they rarely had interesting entrances, it was just video package-fight-video package-fight, and killing time if a match didn't go the distance. They grew exponentially once Anderson Silva and others started having DMX and other entrance music, lighting effects and so on - along with explosive post-match interviews.

I don't know why I come back here and keep doing this stuff when it's clear you aren't here to have an actual discussion of what works and what doesn't. We've been through this whole song and dance 100 times before, all you do is mark one side as enemies and one side as friendlies, and you go from there. Why pretend you're something else? Just devolve already, you know you want to. Stop with the formalities and bullshit and just start slinging mud.

yeah that's stupid. UFC initially became popular because of the Ultimate Fighter show which was unironically a show that added stories and characters to what would otherwise be uninteresting fights between nobodies.

During the shows, you build anticipation for the PPV/PLE. You do that with filler matches and good promos. During the PPV/PLE's, you just do wrestling, or majority wrestling. I consider entrances part of the wrestling.
