How good was he actually? Dude's basically the most iconic black player in NFL history and sold millions of copies of Madden. But how good was he?

It's hard to say. He was a decent quarterback, but his coaching career never really got off the ground.

Unironically yes, he didn't have as much volume as Brady but he was more efficient in the air, and on the ground he was amazing as well. I don't necessarily mind Brady winning the 2010 MVP, but the margin by which he did was 100% because people mad about dogs.

Couldn't throw accurately and famously didn't learn the playbook. Worse than Lamar but he had 2-3 really spectacular seasons like Lamar's 2019

Not very good. Too short for the position. Very athletic so a good scrambler but you can only depend on that when you're a young QB, without the scandal we would be talking about him getting >exposed

His raw athleticism allowed him to make some spectacular highlight plays and really light people up if the defense couldn't adjust but, like all meme qbs, if the home run plays weren't there he struggled to sustain drives. If he had half a brain he might have really been something but his limitations inevitably became obvious and he never really made a dent in the playoffs.

As a Duval gay I am curious why you think this? Trevor clearly is a mediocre quarterback who has mental lapses and the organization as a whole is full of losers.

At this time there are a lot of people who are hyped up on modern players while there are quite a number who also think this day’s league is soft and that some of the previous GOATs could come back and set record numbers.
How long until AI can properly analyze this? How long until both Mahomes and Brady Black folk have to confront their bullshit when the objective analysis ranks them both outside the top 10 all time?

there was just a lot of hype with him coming out of college since was one of the first star athletic quarterbacks but he never lived up to it his career was centered around highlights

He really wasn't that good at QB. Fun to watch somedays and incredibly frustrating most of the time. Andy really turned him into a better player for a few years when he was losing mobility but he still didn't get the team very far. He was member of the famous dream team that sucked and he got andy fired in his last year as a starter..so yeah.

Frankly, not very good. If you pay attention to his highlight real, it’s basically the same 4 plays. I think the furthest he got was getting smoked in the 2004 NFCC by the eagles. Apparently he didn’t work very hard.

That being said, his 2010 season was one of the best I’ve ever seen and he got robbed out of that MVP.

I was an unironic falcon fan back then
He was the original meme player
It’s too bad he didn’t play during TikTok and YouTube shorts era or he could have been much more popular
Basically his entire thing is he’d have a crazy highlight play a few times a game and then play like dogshit or just straight up lose the game for the team the rest of the time
I still remember his signature move was scrambling downfield, then slowing to a jog waiting for an opening and always holding the ball with one hand away from his body, then a defender would come up behind him and slap the ball out
I swear that shit used to happen multiple times a game
Also he was pretty skinny for an NFL player and used to get totally destroyed at least once a season and miss significant time
He was awesome if you weren’t a falcon fan and didn’t give a shit whether they won or lost and just wanted to see cool shit occasionally

Really good but not great. However, it was in an era with less hot take artists and nerd stats. Plus more cazzies who actually watched the sport and could appreciate how entertaining he was. Obviously you still needed success in the post season to be taken seriously long term, but people wouldn't completely tear down a player if he couldn't get it done. Lamar would have a god tier amount of devotion if he played then.
