Anyone who watched before 2004 realizes Taker was a shitter, you have to be quite young or only got WWE in your country when Taker was treated like a legend and Smackdown was full of shitters like Khali and Kozlov to think he was anything.

He was Austin's main feud for most of 98 and a bunch of 99. He was a huge part of everything when the ratings were highest. Austin and Taker were the main two guys in 98 WWF (excluding McMahon)

He was really good in 97 and 98, became shit again in 99 (Ministry was based but he was fat and out of shape), didn't get good again until like 2005. Still was boring sometimes and shat the bed occasionally, but he didn't really fall off until he became part time. And the first 6 years obviously he was a walking corpse until his feud with Mankind made him actually work. So yeah I'll give you that, out of his first 15 years he was only good for two of them.

His 97 run as champion could legitimately be the worst ever. He was the 3rd wheel at best the entire time behind Austin, and the Hart foundation. Had no storyline the entire run except Paul Bearer teasing Kane's debut. I bet no one can name a single title match he had during the period other than Bret or Sid.

Taker's 97 title run was a plan B scenario because Bret vs Shawn didn't happen, it was never supposed to be a success

50% of this sub are complete normified dumbfricks that were braindead kids during the atitude era and roled with the muh badass gime a beer atitude of simp cuck, thus not being able to develop a deeper imagination, the other 50% are aew fans that jerk off to fippy dwarfs doing muh moves because they can't develop abstract thoughts or extract meaning for symbols and so they only care for muh 5 star matcherino with little overall substance.

Both of these groups hate the platonic character of wrestling and it's crown israeliteel gimmicks, and Taker is one of those. Not hard to comprehend why this sub of all places if the iwc is the only one to contest Taker's spot in wrestling history.

Summerslam v. Austin was the BIGGEST match of that era.
The Ministry was the BIGGEST antagonist gimmick in WWE history.
The Streak was the BIGGEST long-term booking angle.
