The WWE equivalent is clearly World, Intercontinental, and US. What the hell is TNT and why is it needed?

Would make sense if AEW had a brand split and each show had a main and mid card title. I still don’t know which title is supposed to be more important between International, Continental, and TNT

Continental is the world heavyweight. TNT is the workhorse belt defended every week. International is the IC

Cody and Darby carried it that way. Essentially you burn the candle at both ends when defending the tile. The hot potato of the belt was dumb and Christian rehabilitated the belt. Give Adam some credible defense before losing it to Jay and then you can set up a darby match up

Is the International the old Orange Cassidy title? The Contiental is the new title they just made with a tournament? Am I right. It's confusling and how they hell did Roderick Strong get a title? Who did he beat?

Are any of these an ROH title or are there separate ROH titles and how many and who has them. I WATCH this show and I don't know the answer.

Combine all of them, or combine 3 of them into a gimmick title, either weight classed, age limit, time limit, or a stip that isn't moronic like the continental title currently has. Maybe shoot style rules, or they've gotten away with so much already, just make it a death match title.

        Anonymous

        your ideas are shit.
weight classes historically haven't drawn and only serve to bury half the roster and limit possible matchups. the belts already operate on different time limits (world title usually has 1 hour, tnt/tbs is 20-30 minutes). the roh pure matches get negative reactions so whatever "shoot-style rules" means probably won't get over either.

You are a simpleton with no understanding of wrestling, much less wrestling history.
All of those are better than 3 titles that are exactly the same and a fourth that has a nonsensical non cheating rule. If you had said this to my face, which you wouldn't have due to your cowardice I would have beat your ass.

I don’t watch AEW so I didn’t even know they had this many belts. Could one of you explain the difference between the 4 top men’s belts? I get he one Joe has is “the big main belt” but what are the other 3? How are they different and where do they rank amongst each other? I asking genuinely as I’ve never heard of those until today.

      >AEW: Big main belt
      >TNT: TV title that half the champions don't defend on TV every week
      >International: Another belt
      >Continental: Has a special ruleset where you can't have anyone at ringside during a match, will be defended every year in the C2 tournament
Also there's 3 ROH men's singles titles that show up in AEW, and the NJPW Strong title is currently in AEW

Joe's is the top title, but they've mainevented at least one PPV with Roddy's title.
Roddy's title use to be for wrestlers to defend in other promotions, it started with Pac, cause he had visa issues, so the idea was he would defend it in England. But most AEW wrestlers are lazy and don't want to work more dates than they have to, and Tony demands if his talent work other promotions that he gets to book their matches and segments so it's just a headache to book AEW wrestlers. So that title has just become a midcard title.
Edge's title is a TV title, but unlike traditional TV titles they don't use a limited time limit as a gimmick. At one point it was being used as an open challenge title, allowing unsigned talent to get onto dynamite and try to get themselves over to a national audience. But now that title has just become a midcard title.
Okada's title was the unification of 3 titles after a tournament. But they quickly dropped that, those three titles still exist independent of Okada's title. This title carries the special rule that no one is allowed to have managers at ringside when it's being defended, so exciting. Outside of that very limited rule, it's just another midcard title.
I just want AEW to be good 🙁

Thank you both for the genuine answers. I’ve always been a fan of a TV title as a solid mid card belt, not sure why. It seems like at the start the International and Continental were intended to be different but from what I can gather they’ve kind of become the same general thing, so that’s unfortunate. I can’t say for certain if I would consider all 4 belts to be necessary, but it sounds like they could be very interesting with the right guys and bookers behind them. Even if I wouldn’t consider myself an AEW fan, I don’t hate it or anything. There is plenty that interests me in the promotion, and I feel like a lot of the console warring comes from people who only have knowledge of the company they already like. Personally, I try to be as knowledgeable as possible with any promotion that interests me, and as I said AEW indeed has wrestlers and ideas that interest me, it just seems unfortunate that a lot of the good ideas tend to be executed poorly, for lack of a more apt word. I was a WCW mark as a child and young man, so I completely understand what it’s like to prefer the “smaller” promotion, so to speak. I honestly only hope for the best with AEW, as healthy competition is beneficial to the entire profession. Hopefully they can get it together soon, I genuinely do.
