Exponentially more. Them backpedaling on moronic writing is understandable; WWE made a concerted effort to fix something, even if Cody ends up looking like a b***h in the process. I appreciate the attempt at rectifying things.

If it was all a work, then Cody looks like even more of a b***h, and everyone who greenlit this nonsense should be ashamed for thinking it was good. Despite Cody winning at WM40, we will have still took an ass backwards path to get there, and it deflates everything.

My headcanon is that HHH played 10d chess and baited endeavor into making a booking tweek that fans would react badly to so that they'd be spooked from ever doing it again. What better way is there to keep your job than to be the only person on the planet seen as qualified to do it?

I think they were floating the idea and went with Cody vs. Roman but tried to givsies-backsies the rumble after Phil got injured. If they actually wanted Roman vs. Rock from the get-go, they'd just have Rock win the rumble.

Cody shouldn't have won the Royal Rumble. Rock vs Roman should have always been the match. They shot themselves in the foot because they're options are:
    >A) Finish the Story
    >B) Kill their top baby and burn the audience
But Roman hasn't beaten Bruno's record yet so A is a no go. Have fun with B.

And now the Rock is full blown Rock and Brian Gewirtz is inspired to write amazing villain dialogue with him. He's so fricking dimes right now that Roman had to talk shit about him on Pat McAfee because he went from final boss to sidekick because no big fish in a small pond can stand up to the whale in a teardrop.

yeah, seth getting injured forced them down a path where they had to reach that ultimatum.

I honestly think the "bloodline rules" is some sort of weird booking shit that is either going to allow roman to retain or allow rock to self insert himself into the match to win the belt

        >allow rock to self insert himself into the match to win the belt
I know Rock is a huge draw but I think that would tank the show by signaling that this is now Dwayne's personal fed and pissing off both Cody marks and Roman marks enough to stop watching
also Rock is fricking off for the rest of the year for a movie so he won't even be on the show to draw anyone to it

basically but all politics. Dwayne wanted the WM main event despite not working Rumble. Cody was being encouraged to wrestle Seth with Punk hurt as an alternative but rejected the idea, then Drews contract was coming up so they pivoted to him. Cody got back in the conversation as people rejected the idea of Rock taking Cody's spot by force along with his original plans getting shot down.

The fact Rock seems a little shaky and uncomfortable as a heel, I’d say it wasn’t a work. I don’t think they planned this. It’s too moronic and convoluted for it to be the plan all along. I agree with other anons here, TKO wanted Rock/Roman, so Triple H booked it in a way that would make people turn on the match and want Cody. Surely there’s an easier way to get to Bloodline Rock and Cody vs. Roman than this convoluted “but not at WrestleMania” shit.

He is nervous. However, he is just that good.

When they did the show in Salt Lake city and he roasted the place over being mormons, he was greeting fans after the show and being friendly. When he went to Memphis, the crowd was rooting for him to beat up Cody even when his promo got evil and creepy about delivering a belt covered in Cody's blood to his mother.

HHH's boss's boss gave him a change of plans and he used weaponized incompetence so it would fail. It wasn't malicious compliance because there was a very real way to make Cody vs Seff & Samoan Showdown happen where the piggies would gulp it down like Randy Savage cum. Rock vs Roman was the plan from last year. The Rock was literally on ESPN talking about how him vs Roman would be the biggest main event in Wrestling.

Phil was supposed to win the rumble and challenge Seth, but got injured. Cody was the in-ring audible made by Paul.

Now it's a pivot to some bullshit tag team match no one cares about with whatever moron stipulation is.

Cody was supposed to face a heel Orton instead of Orton jumping into KO vs Logan Paul's feud.
