It literally was not offside, objecticely wrong
Whether it would have resulted in a goal or not is not only irrelevant, its also something we can never know
However if you look at it, it is unlikely real could do much about it in the 1 second they would gain without the whistle
I know you won't admit this because when you look down at youe hands you see they are brown, just like a monkey, your women have brown rotten veganas like zombies, youe language sounds like you have a sub 50 iq, your countries people somehow manage to all have a distincitve smell of shit and you live in a shithole in which the only cope is cheating at a game of football that you are so proud of, which your teams consist of literal monkey looking Black folk, to make yourself feel just a bit better so you won't off yourselves
But surely this was not a horrible decision from the ref - which he already admitted and apologized for, something refs literallly never do but this one was so bad and blatant he actually apologized. No, luckily we have you here, making these definitive statements acting like you aren-t 100% wrong about every single point you made.

      He is offside

      Is it offside though?

Okay, so just to clarify I am a total neutral here and I want an objective debate on whether or not this move is offside.

I think everyone is aware the refs should not whistle so early, and so on. I'm not interested in that.

What I want to discuss is, is the move offside or not ? If you watch this clip of Mbappe from the 2021 UEFA Nations League Final, you'll see a similar situation:

Pass, striker is offside, but pass comes off opponent player last. Now player is onside and gets ball, scores, goal stands.

I personally believe this is ridiculous as how can striker possibly NOT be "interfering" with play, but in any case, that's the rules. Or at least was in 2021.

Effectively, even if De Ligt is offside from the initial pass, it comes off Rudiger last.
By the way, this is all assuming it even IS offside - we're yet to see digital straight lines, from the correct angle, on this.

      So,
Is it offside or no ?

The 2nd player (#10?) is onside and the ball was played to him, not the blonde guy who's half a foot offside. Once the play continues the blonde guy is now eligible to continue into the play and score (which he did)

i.e., it wasn't offside. If a leaf understands the rule why doesn't a latinx whose whole life revolves around soccer not understand?

The minimum given injury time isn't for you to run on the pitch after a VAR review

it should have never got this bad. tuchel mismanaged the situation very bad despite being gifted the lead. bayern were playing with 5.5 men on the pitch until 70 minutes. after that they were playing with 4. rewatch the match, it is most embarrassing performance from bayern

            >every single decision tuchel made after the goal was a rookie mistake
How were it mistakes? Did you pay attention? The players couldnt run any longer. He took them off cause they were either injured OR out of gas. He didn't even have a choice lmao.

yes i paid particular attention to kimmich embarassing himself for 90 minutes straight and to pavolvich being unable to sustain a 12kmph run therethrough missing a goalscoring opportunity and to laimer being a 20IQ midfielder. I also paid attention to muller having a 3 mini strokes on the pitch and kim and choupo being less dynamic than harry kane in at minute 65. bayern was never leaving that game without conceding and could only score in a counter attack. despite sahne and musiala playing poorly, it makes more sense to revitalize the exhausted midfield and take off kimmich who was playing the worst game of his career. someone post that pavlovich webm.

Sane played for less than 20 minutes lmao.

I thought the same at first but some German anon made me reconsider it. He's clearly interfering by just being there running so close to a defender. I don't understand why the linesman would raise his flag here when it is such a dubious offside though.

            >interfering with an opponent
He didn't interfere shit. He was behind a player who couldnt reach the ball and his teammate, who the Real player infront of #4 wasnt even aware of existing, got it. There was no interference. He didnt interfere with anything Rudiger was going to do. And he sure as shit didnt interfere with what the player below #10 was doing, either. So no clue what argument you wanna construct here.

yes and he was the one who received the ball, #4 was offside and affected the play by preventing Madrid's #22 from intercepting the pass or making it much harder for #10 to make a play

However even if that is the case it's too close to call without calling VAR, I think the refs were scared of giving Bayern a goal at that point after completely fricking up the extra time

Linesman flagged early, so ref whistled early, so play stops dead and VAR can't get involved anymore. It's why every single refereeing team is told to, under no circumstances, stop dead a promising attacking situation until a quick review is done by VAR. Unless of course, Madrid might get punished.

            Anonymous

Because the linesman flagged even though he should have left it go and then the ref blew early because that is what he is supposed to do. We'll never know if this would have been a goal now because the Madrid players stopped once they heard the whistle but there was never going to be a VAR review once the whistle blew.

are you really sure the linesman flagged because watching it live I never saw him do it but everyone is assuming he did, would love to see the whole thing

could be, I'm probably wrong but I have the feeling there's more to that referee/linesman mistake than it seems, not just the linesman raising the flag but some major communication frickup between the two because the ref could have just let the game continue even with the flag raised instead of that lightspeed whistle he did but I guess tomorrow there'll be a million replays anyway

            Anonymous

It's a mistake to raise the flag and it's a mistake to blow the whistle, but once you do that madrid players stop playing and there is no goal. They probably were nervous for giving too much extra time and that could have made them more prone to fricking up, as they did. Either way, Madrid deserved the win and even if Bayern'd forced extra time Real would have won one way or another.

He shouldn't have blown the whistle in that play, he should have blown the end of the match at 9' or at 11' if he said 2 more. This play is at 12:30 of extra time, match should have already ended.

There was a lot of time wasting after the 90th minute. Stoppage time is not set in stone after it goes up, it can go beyond what was originally planned if the ref thinks it's necessary.

The obvious solution is stopping the clock so players don't fake injuries or fouls to waste time. Just 2 halfs of 30 minutes which is the average playing time.

The only excitement Bayern Munich brought this season was their off-the-field drama.
Their biggest scalp of this season was Arsenal FC, who's also en route to winning nothing.

            Anonymous

That is true, but what does it change? Don't tell me Real is such an exciting team, this is Real fricking Madrid and not some plucky underdog. Bayern vs. Real probably is the biggest duel you can have in football, the only difference between Real vs. Dortmund and Bayern vs. Dortmund is that the latter pairing has more history. It's not like one is super boring and the other super cool, Dortmund is the clear outsider anyway

Umit please, what part of WINNING dont you understand? It's not about being the better team. Bayern was shit. Nobody contests this. • 2 weeks ago
            Anonymous

amerifats argument was, bayern didnt deserve te final bc 75% of their conceded goals where by individual mistakes. So I guess he means conceding x amount of goals from being outplayed makes you the better team than recing x amount of goals from player errors.

im not talking about the final result, im talking about his moronic logic.
by that logic, bayern has to be quite solid, when the only reason they lost is individual frick ups, and it still was close.

The time it takes to set up after a goal has been scored is part of playing time. At 9:30 the ref signalled two more minutes. There was no time wasting in between, the game should have been over by the time the play happened.

I dont know how much SAWKER you saw in your life, apperently not much, but usually when a player is standing in offside(especially if only a few inches), and a ball is played in the general direction, its not an instant whistle if another player has the chance to get to the ball.

It was impossible to justify though. You cant literally put your hands into a players face. You can not call that as anything but a foul. No matter how much the person dives. It's a foul. Your hands have NO REASON to be in the opponents face. It would have been too obviously rigged.

When deal with a team known for rigging and offside goals? It absolutely is. And these days refs have mics in their ears. Ref blew the whistle right as the ball comes to De Ligt. That's him directly interfering with the play, and then the linesmen gets the flag up. Unprecedented and never seen before.

It's also absolutely outrageous that the added time was 9 minutes. Not even Alex Ferguson was this shameless with Fergie time.

Clear rigging, hopefully some day in the future all these titles will be stripped away like what happened to AC Milan.

Cope. Bayern were clearly the worse team wasting chance after chance while needing Neuer and a fricking Canadian to even keep them remotely in the game.

Also two defenders and Lunin were well positioned when De Ligt got the ball, he clearly wouldn't have had the same time and space if the play was live.

And even if he did score and it wasn't offside, anyone who thinks that Bayern wouldn't have let in more goals in extra time is delusional and obviously wasn't watching the game. Vini was destroying Kimmich all night.

            Anonymous

I hate both teams with a passion so I couldn't care less about them. I care about the rules being followed, and even with VAR, it seems that the rules don't apply to Real Madrid.

I don't care about your analysis of the game because it's irrelevant. Yes Bayern were the worse team, but so was Chelsea in 2012 in the final until Drogba equalized in the last minute.

There's a second between when the ball bounces to De Ligt and when the ref whistles, Rudiger still tries to block the ball. In the Joselu goal, the Bayern players thought it was offside and were being dormant, it still ended up being a goal, same scenario here.

            >T-t-they would have lost in OT
You have no way of knowing that, same way no one knew Alphonso Davies was going to score a screamer with his right foot.

      Anonymous

offside is only possible when the attacker is in the opponent's half when the ball is played
and attackers are often faster than defenders
that's why you want to avoid your line being too far up the field or it makes it easier to get fricked by a throughball on Mbappe
a good example would be Madrid's goal in the first leg
Kim pushes up way too far and then nobody can catch up to Monkey Jr when Kroos passes the ball through
now imagine the entire defensive line being that far up, Kroos can now pass it through to 4 people instead of just Monkey Jr

What most people don´t seem to get is that ALL Real Madrid players (also the goalkeeper) stopped playing as soon as they heared the referee stopping the game.

So regardless if it was offside or not there would have not been a goal at all because Real Madrid were not playing. If the referee had not stopped it maybe he could have shot outside the field or whatever.

The "goal" was because of Real Madrid stopping playing. How many offsides-onsides end up in goal? Probably 5%. So even if it was not offside there would not be a goal in that play.

false! didn't happen in the 114th minute, that's when the game ended.. First 3 minutes of extra time were used up by Madrid celebrating their VAR goal. Naturally these minutes will be added.

      >scores goal
Not even, Madrid players were chilling while Buyern's were autistacally tryharding after a ref whistle

Only the goallie stopped moving. The other players still continued onwards. It's still a critical error from the ref. One that certainly could have proven decisive.

for the record, Madrid deserved to win. I hate Tuchel and his poor attempt to close out the game. I am glad it backfired.

What's the matter when the ref stops the game?

Real are an elite team with all members focused singularly on winning, so this is an expected outcome.

You know why he's offside ? Cause he's not agile enough.

Bayern had 5 shots on target and 4 corners that's not a whole lot of work

those statistics don't really reflect how much strength was put into those saves because they could vary in difficulty but anyway if it came down to extra time or penalties that extra energy he saved could have been a game-changer
Thinking that he should jumped when he's supposed to do nothing is moronic. People were given yellow cards for playing after the whisle in the past
