The ONE match that wrecked this guy caused
      >One Shibata trainee to have permanent neck and spine damage
      >One Shibata trainee to have shoot brain damage
      >One Shibata trainee to tear his bicep
      >One non-Shibata trainee to have a stroke or something causing him to take time off and miss out on the New Japan cup he was booked to win
      >One non-Shibata trainee to be removed from the schedule by the doctor because of multiple concussions received in a single match
      >ONE ring completely demolished, every inch of mat torn apart, every board broken, all the ropes cut, the cornbuckles bent so far out of shape they are unrepairable, mat skirts torn and burned, corner posts bent to the point of broken
      >One Dave Meltzer having a two hour melt down on the live radio and a month of newsletter seething

I don't know what the frick Shibata is teaching his boys, but it should become standard curriculum in every wrestling school.

The stroke didn’t but the rest genuinely yes. It is one of my top matches this year. People gave it 5 stars and in the same discussion people called it trash. Probably the most polarizing match in recent memory.

You got no idea how insane md4r are. I was joking about Finlay's stroke, he just took time off, but the rest of it is 100% a shoot. Shibata took 5 grown ass men who were destined to be jobbers, and made them into batshit insane berserkers.

        >I don't know what the frick Shibata is teaching his boys, but it should become standard curriculum in every wrestling school.
He just beats them, a lot. He tells them that they can shoot on him at any time 24/7 and if they beat him they will go directly to the NJPW main roster, but they can only attack one person at a time. Then he just beats the shit out of them every time they try. When one tries and fails he does mass punishment where they all have to do 12 hours of training and practice matches. During the practice matches he says he will cut the punishment short for anyone that can beat the others in a shoot fight. He tells them they have to follow the worked rules of wrestling, but if they can cheat and he doesn't notice it doesn't count.

It is basically lord of the flies for 20 something grown ass men.

homie you lying. NJPW said they wouldn't sign anyone no matter what Shibata told them and they instituted a concussion protocol that said anyone coming out of the NJPW LA dojo had to pass two different Doctor's MRIs before they could come to Japan. That rule was specifically put in place to prevent Shibata from sending anyone over that he beat into compliance.

Plus when Eddie Thorpe came over to NXT he said that no one in NJPW abused him. STFU, LA Dojo is safe af.

Isn't WWE superstar Karl Fredericks/Eddie Thorpe an LA dojo graduate? Weird how he no one brings him up as an LA Dojo graduate when he gets injured in the WWE. Seems like kind of a double standard.

Not entirely accurate. Finlay is out because he's sick and Drilla Moloney already had a torn bicep he was working through it but that doesn't sound as brutal and the extent / reason of Alex Coughlin's injuries is speculation based on previous neck injuries but not definitive.

How the frick did they get permission to go an hour plus just beat each other moronic and breaking shit. Every time I rewatch this match I am just left more confused.

I don't think so, it would be too weird just to do it on twitter as a work. David Finaly hinted at it earlier but didn't say anything for sure, probably was waiting for Coughlin to announce it himself. He had a neck injury before in 2020.
