It's not a sports event, it's a humiliation ritual. You WILL accept diversity, you WILL eat the bugs and you WILL abandon your pleasures and distractions to die in Ukraine for democracy.

I think its been quite a good euros. I've enjoyed seeing all the smaller teams progress in the tournament. The stadiums haven't always been great. But security seems effective. UEFA also have ruined the tournament by being super gay.

You're very welcome. But I'm afraid the UK will outdo us in four years. Because it's going downhill for all of us, and we'll all be in worse states in 2028
I think 2020/21 was worse by the way, the idea with the multiple countries was a shit one, especially since the groups were completely fricked up. Don't tell me it had memorable matches galore

What's wrong with the stadiums? Except the Dortmund waterfall and the rather slippy Frankfurt pitch. I can see the issue here, but it's not like they made for a terrible experience

the thing is because of the internet and English language media you are all aware of how fricked up and shit the UK has become, but we really have no idea with you guys. It's like when some abe spams screenshot articles aboutt he uk, we don't have any to post back because they aren't reported in English media.
Basically I'm saying we thought German cities and infrastructure was a lot better than it is

It's gotten much worse since 2015 for sure.
Road infrastructure is still fine for the most part (for now), at least Autobahn and so on. The train stuff being completely fricked is so deeply ingrained in our modern-day culture that we're all very surprised you didn't know yet. I am very embarrassed about all of it, to be honest.
Gelsenkirchen and Frankfurt are special shitholes, though. You got kind of unlucky in this regard
Be glad you didn't visit an open-air swimming pool. There's arguably no more effective way to know your country is literally dying before your eyes

The Schalke stadium didn't look great for the Portugal Georgia game a lot of dudes slipped in that match. But that's quite minor in the grand scheme of things.

the game is played differently now. managers control players much more tightly and so safe play is dominating, less chaos. uefa trying to expand the tournament also creates a situation where games are boring- was there a single danger group this time around? no. because of how the competition works the big teams will go through drawing all their fricking games and have no incentive to try. on top of that you’ve got the early era of VAR still not worked out properly so you’ve got tedious pace destroying recalls of good goals, you’re not encouraged to be aggressive. it’s not the fault of germany, they just inherited the competition in a phase of decline. on top of that, the unique flavour and personality of each team is slowly becoming one vague multicultural blob. players expressing themselves are met with sanctions and bans, teams slowly come to look and act identical as the players are brought up in the social media age where their character is throughly trained so they always appear marketable, not to mention demographic change in europe generally. it’s all transitioning into a very corporate affair where multi national rootless companies get a regular pay cheque. it is slowly ceasing to be about the spirit of competition and patriotism. the players all basically work for fifa instead of their nation, and the games all have the approved fifa culture instead of the culture of the countries playing
