when their team plays like shit they shit on the players and the manager, when arse plays like shit their fans just go around saying things like "i-its only temporal, we'll be back!"

FA cup is heavily dependent on luck.
Look at Manures run in the FA cup:
    Wigan Athletic 0–2 Manchester United
    Newport County 2–4 Manchester United
    Nottingham Forest 0–1 Manchester United
    Manchester United 4–3 Liverpool
    Coventry City 3–3 (2–4 p) Manchester United
    Manchester City 1–2 Manchester United

As you see, not many strong teams they faced, apart from Pool, at the time which even the top4 race was over for them, so they went balls deep into the FA cup games.
They absolutely got lucky against Coventry.

Congratulations to Manure fans for their FA cup title, Arsenal have been there literally, winning the FA cup and finishing 8th, so we know how it feels. However don't get too exited because it takes quite some time to get to a place where you compete for the EPL title in the span of 38 games.

holy fricking cope. no one is saying cups are a measure of which team is the best, but that's the whole point of them
      >Arsenal have been there literally, winning the FA cup and finishing 8th, so we know how it feels
if you are happier about a season in which you won the "we put the pressure on" trophy than the season in which you actually won something then holy shit that's pathetic

        Anonymous

        Your point is mutt.
A successful season is measured in comparison with the goals that the team make for themselves at the start of the season.
Both Arsenal and Manure wanted to finish the season in top4, fighting for both/either EPL and CL title, and potentially win a trophy like FA cup or EFL cup along the way.
Arsenal failed to win a single trophy, finished the league at the 2nd place (lost the league title by 2 points), got knocked out of CL quarter finals, and left with a team that can fight for the EPL and CL next season.
ManUtd won a trophy (FA cup), finished the league at the 8th place (-1 goal difference), finished last in the CL group stage, and left with a team that can not fight for the EPL and CL next season.

United season ain't better than Arsenal if you think about it.

look, i get it, you're prioritizing the league heavily, which is understandable. but if you don't actually win it, i don't give a shit how close you came. you're looking at it like it's a progression to the title, but you don't know that, city will be there next season, liverpool will be too, so you might not get that close for a while. i'll take winning the fa cup over that, plus it's not like you can't win the "put the pressure on" trophy AND an actual trophy as well.

Arsenal is progressing while united is declining, that’s the point. It’s been grim the last two decades. At least now we’re title contenders every season

    lol no.

United fluked City winning a historic league title, catching them on a hangover day, which resulted in the worst first 45 minutes they've played in about a decade. it's actually damning for United that their City rivals didn't have the motivation to win another trophy against a side that's meant to be somewhat relevent. so yeh, United sneaked two goals during that meme first half, and fell over the line. well done i guess. 99.9999% of the time City win that match. teams like Millwall, Hull and Blackburn get meme themselves into FA Cup finals from time to time. this season, the shower of shite that finished 8th and ended with a negative GD were this season's Millwall/Hull/Blackburn. but they memed a win. (like Wigan in 2013).

you're the Wigan of 2023. congratulations.
