Elaborate for those of who don't listen to dimeless nobodies talk about wrestling. Please.

In WWE you get paid a guarantee no matter how much you wrestle, what shows you wrestle on, or how much merch you sell.
The bucket part of the system is that you can’t earn anything more than your guarantee unless you work enough to overflow your bucket. Meaning if you were to “make” 10k a match and your guarantee was 100k per pay period. You’d have to work 11 matches in a pay period to start making extra money than what you’re guaranteed.
With that system in mind it starts to make a bit more sense why Vince hated guys getting over when he didn’t want them too, because if they started selling merch like mad they’d actually have to get paid big to wrestle.

it's like a threshold of money that if you don't clear, you don't earn all your extra merch and appearance money, and make a base salary. think of it like you need to make 100k money in extra revenue to 'fill the bucket' each month. if you earned 88k in extra cash, you get none of it because you didn't fill the bucket. you only get your base salary. so unless you're a top earner, you don't even really make commission so to speak

        Very informative. Thanks anons!

So if my "bucket" is equivalent to the value of, say, 500 t-shirts, and I only sell 450 t-shirts, WWE keeps the money from that 450 and I don't see a penny of it?

Wtf is wrong with this system? When I was in sales I’d have to clear my quarterly target before I was eligible for bonus. Seems fair to me

my guess is that WWE might stop giving opportunities to people approaching the threshold

That’s completely illogical. If I doubled my target, not only would I make more money, the company would too. Why wouldn’t that be the case with wrestlers?

Doubling your target would more than likely overflow the bucket in terms of this system and then earn you all the extra percentage on top of that. This system is for people who don't double their target, but maybe do you know 40% 60% or even 90% of the target. (probably more than 50% of wrestlers on the roster). WWE keeps all their money in those cases. It's basically just a racket to collect money generated from subpar wrestlers and not stars

I dont think it's a racket idea since they pay a bunch of not over dudes a lot to sit at home. The system has more to do with judging who's over. If zack ryder gets over on his own, but the office doesn't want to push him because they have someone else in mind, Ryder gets cooled down

You're looking at it the wrong way, they aren't taking extra money, they're guaranteeing that they make a base pay. Basically, every wrestler is getting paid per appearance but if all those payments don't add up to the base salary, WWE will make up the difference and still pay them.

Manny and Dio both said something about wwe specifically cutting your dates and appearances right as they approached the 'FILL BUCKET' mark.
IDK maybe it only happens to anti draws or something or maybe it's a personal thing with the front office but come to think of it, the male models did kinda get cut off tv right as they were getting steam. If you take them for their word, it was because they were gaining momentum and wwe didn't wanna have to pay for the extra bucket pay after it 'overflows'. So front office benched 'em.

bucket system is kinda based because it filters jannetties (LIKE YOU, MANNY) from earning unwarranted slices of the revenue pie

Manny also said that he got paid several million to sit on his ass and jerk off at home for a couple of years so I doubt he's gonna complain about that
