At least his Real Madrid played offensive football instead of sitting on their ass for 90 minutes passing the ball around the back and hoping for a counter attack or a mistake by the opposing defenders. He also played against the best team off all time (Barcelona 2009~2015) and the best player of all time (Messi). Not the worst version of Barcelona in the last 40 years against fricking Raphinia.

it seems like it, he was picked for the friendlies squad again and United isnt letting him go for the olympics so his only hopes of playing with the NT is for the Copa

They got knocked out in RO16, 2 years in a row right after Ronaldo left.
They won 21/22 CL by sheer luck and Benzema being in form. Don't pretend Real Madrid didn't completely rebuild from scratch over the years. The current RM is nothing like the RM of the Ronaldo era. Unlike Barcelona, Florentino didn't bankrupt his club so he managed to rebuild and restructure. Real Madrid was and will always be a huge club, but don't act like Ronaldo leaving didn't make them shittier for a few years. You can't rewrite history.
Similarly, Real Madrid before Ronaldo arrived was getting knocked out in RO16 back to back, getting shat on 5-0 by the likes of 08/09 Liverpool, 4-2 by the likes of 07/08 Roma etc. Then Ronaldo and Kaka came and they immediately became contenders reaching the semi finals 3 years in a row.
Nobody was carrying Ronaldo, he was invaluable to Real Madrid. There were missing pieces that were filled and they dominated CL 4 times in 5 years, then one piece was removed and they got shat on twice in a row. They have simply managed to replace the missing piece.
Think of Messi's barcelona getting shat on consistently in the CL for 4 years back to back because despite having Messi they didn't have a good team around him.
It all comes down to Florentino being a better club owner.

People often forget how awful was the 2018-2019 season, Madrid was 9th in the league with the lowest goal scoring draught in their history (1 goal in 7 matches), it didn't get better until Solari played with Reguilón and Vinicius, and even after that he was sacked because Ajax + losing to Barça a gazillion times in 2 weeks

what youre saying is it was a mistake to let Ronaldo go
Florentino just has an even bigger ego than him
Florentino is desperately trying to repeat the glacatico era and thinks hes a genius, but that didnt work the first time either
and like you say, the last two CLs were quite pure luck
