I believe hes referring to Tom Bradys near perfect season where he ended up losing the superbowl. It was almost 20 years ago but from what Ive heard the meltdown was legendary and america was celebrating because non new englanders hated him and his team

During the first minutes of the game, I was too tense to check Fhite
After the 2:0 and until at least the very least half an hour after the game, I was too perplexed to check Fhite
It took me a long while to realize: Oh frick, what the frick is happening on Fhite now? And when I eventually checked on this board, it was wild indeed. Hard to describe. But it was crazy, and it wasn't even the pinnacle of it, since I was late

Oh, I also have to say Brazilians were very cool about it. There were fewer Brazilian flags than usual, I suppose, but those who were there were mostly remarkably chill. To a degree, it felt like laughing together. I don't think I would have been able to do this in that situation
I don't think we'll witness anything like this again, another blowout like this would kinda merely be a copy of the 7:1, and the board kind of changed for the worse since then in general, as did football itself. I'm not saying we wouldn't have fun, but I think the conditions kind of worsened

        Anonymous

Even the Brazilians in attendance were shitposting about it by the end. They were cheering Germany for much of the second half.

I fear for the worst regarding the game against Spain in 13 hours. If we get 7:1'd, you won't see me on Fhite for days, and the depression I'd suffer would be even worse if I were in the stadium
I obviously don't stand for every single German, and there certainly were butthurt/depressed Brazilians, but it's also as you've said, and they were remarkably cool about it as a whole, which means all the more since they are (not without reason) seen as "the football country" and had more non-sports issues than us as well. I admire that to this day.

        >but those who were there were mostly remarkably chill

Just a spectacular choke. Rare in team sports for the whole team to choke at once.
If you know your cricket, its the equivalent of a massive batting collapse - tension and fear running through the team from player to player and they all fall in a heap one after the other. If you see all your team mates collapsing, it's very hard for you to be the lone dude holding it together.

          Anonymous

The funny thing is they didn't even even collapse that badly, the first 5 goals hit them like a cluster bomb but they did rally somewhat and started the 2nd half as strong as they'd started the first, but they just couldn't get past Neuer, and eventually they conceded the sixth. Their defence was terrible throughout but they deserve credit for never giving up trying to claw something back.

I wouldn't be surprised, if something similar was awaiting DFB tonight (on the receiving end), but I wouldn't mind to err.

Jogi was a good coach in general, at least for national teams. People said he was the actual brain behind the surprisingly successful 2006 World Championship, and that's probably true since Klinsi wasn't a good tactician, ever.
Jogi fricked up against Italy in 2012, and he started getting lazy after the 2017 Confed Cup. But in 2010 and 2014, he did a very good job overall. I think Hansi was very important, but I wouldn't say Jogi was terrible and didn't do anything
