At this rate not long. They kicked off a generational change last month and have been booking the young guys strong as frick during the Champion Carnival.

Ren is frick huge, but he just isn't there yet. I kind of feel like he would benefit most out of all the young guys from going overseas and working with people who are closer to his size.
Rising Hayata is like a bullet. That kid moves like greased lightning, but his size is kind of holding him back, especially in a promotion that is, on average, taller than anywhere else in Japan.

Yuma is the complete package. Tall, athletic as frick, cardio machine, excellent technical worker. It is mind boggling that he has been wrestling for just over a year.

I think Ren has it, he just needs to develop a personality. Yuma is based and I'm glad he's holding the strap

As a product, AJPW is better. But they don’t even sell half of the monthly tickets that NJPW does.

All Japan also runs half the shows new japan runs. If you look at median ticket sales they are way closer than you think. Not being backed by a big Corp hurts. They could definitely be number 2 easily if they ran a comparable amount of shows to Dragon Gate or Noah I think.

Miyahara was a better ace than okada and their new guy yuma anzai is a better prospect than anyone under 30 in new japan.

Who is the future of new japan? shoto umino the crybaby b***h? Yota Tsuji who does wwe shield tribute moves and makes a funny may may face? Ren Narita who is trying to be a heel but also has a videogame gimmick?

They were neck and neck with New Japan in the 70's & 80's, but I can say they were number 1 numerous times in that period. New Japan took the number 1 spot in the 90's and have been outside of the later half of the Inokism era.

All Japan 90's was a great #2, but became a distant third place with the NOAH Exodus. The gap kept increasing, but the Wrestle-1 exodus nearly killed them.

Akiyama did great work repairing the hull and keeping them afloat, but he left for DDT. They were struggling but turned around last year. They're one of the most respected Indies in Japan currently, and they're young talent have great potential.

Does anyone know the name of Ren Ayabe's theme. Shit is really nice and is the kinda thing I would throw on my MP3 player to listen to while I go running.

I want something to be more compelling to me than Nooj given its current state, but AJPW isn't there for me yet. They certainly have an interesting group of young talent. I really dig Ryo Inoue, Anzai, and Honda. But they also have mega dimeless shitters like the huge gaijins they brought in to the carnival or guys who just look like geeks like Seigo and Ikemen.

In terms of ratings/revenue? Almost never. In terms of legacy? Let me put it this way with an old meme: Baba is Hitler, Inoki is Stalin
