The "no tan" thing is Hogan being nice to him. He was ballooned off his breasts on drugs

You know, it's been ages since I've watched the match back but for any time I've heard someone claim Sting high as giraffe pussy he actual worked just fine and I couldn't tell just by watching as far as I can recall.

You were there? In the room with Bischoff and Hulk. You must be a big deal. I wasn't there, but I can tell you what my eyes saw on the television: Sting was not ready to dethrone the nWo.

He had a whole year to only focus on getting swole and instead, he betrayed his wife, kids, and Jesus. I'm glad this killed his icon status. He doesn't deserve it.

            Bischoff himself admitted it.

moron alert. Why would Sting be getting swole? His character is goth, not a fricking bodybuilder

I appreciate the (You). But I can tell, youre not ready to hear the truth.

Does anyone here want to talk for real about Steve Borden? Or even his butt buddy Luger?

They didn't like what I had to say. And Sting knew for months he had to get ready, but didn't even try.

Playing Devil's Advocate, Eric and Hulk saw Sting every single week. So it's not like Sting showed up at Starcade and they decided he wasn't ready the day of the ppv.

Hogan and Bischoff always went with the "no tan/out of shape" story until Sting himself said it was a cover and he was fricked up

The match was typical late Hogan heel era dogshit with an extra dose of frickery for the finish. Sting was so over NOT wrestling that there was no way to pay off the angle in the ring in a sanctioned match. There was no way they were going to stop the NWO angle, Bischoff was just getting warmed up so you can’t have an Ultimate showdown for the soul of WCW match but then have it go back to business as usual the next night. You couldn’t finish this angle with any match let alone a 5 minute piece of shit.

The finish was insane, like actual deranged, Basically a burial. Sting, the man who has terrified the NWO for a year is KO’d from a boot while Hogan goes to all 4 corners of the ring and poses for around 30 seconds. He does the leg drop without even hitting the ropes and what was supposed to be a fast count to make the Bret Hart thing make sense is just a regular 3 count. It makes Sting look like a massive homosexual and Bret too, for not letting the ref ring the bell. Then the most dimeless NWO guys come out, Scott “Big in Japan” Norton and Buffy, they interfere. Sting does a massive Stinger Splash which the crowd pops big for but that’s it. He does the Scorpion Deathlock, Hulk shakes his head no for 15 seconds, doesn’t tap, nods once and goes back to shaking his head and saying no but Bret calls it and it’s over. Hogan immediately rolls out and walks up the ramp. The ring fills up with the most anti-dimes WCW jobbers. Big Show holds Sting like a baby in his arms while Kanyon (in the Mortis gimmick) Jim Duggan, Barry Dorsow, Hugh Morrus and a dozen luchadores. The announcers try to sell this like WCW won and it’s Sting’s big night but the stink of loserdom is so strong, the entire nu-Sting character is making him look cool but this made him look like the least cool thing ever. Just awful. He yells
          >garbleagagaysg MAMACITA
Maybe because he’s surrounded by Mexican midgets in masks cheering for him. It’s the weirdest big match maybe ever

Have you seen his fricking entrance? He's zonked out of his mind, anon. It's well documented, even by Sting himself, that he wasn't in a good place at the time

Sting himself has admitted he was going through issues with drugs at the time, moron.

            >zonked out
            >going through drug issues
            homie who are:
            >Perry Saturn
            >Scott Hall
            >Miss Elizabeth
            >Louie Spicolli
            >Raven
            >Eddie Guerrero
            >Buff Bagwell
            >Lex Luger
All guys that worked the same card that night. Shit had nothing to do with drugs or a tan. Hogan didn’t want to put him over. Really didn’t even want to work. Maybe he was right, there was still a little left in the NWO tank, they hadn’t completely worn out the welcome yet.

None of them were in the biggest match in the company's history

You’re right anon. They were not the biggest match in the companie’s history. They were just every other match on the card. They went over just fine despite everyone being high or drunk. In some cases not even with beautiful tans.

You know how many Singles PPV matches Hogan worked in ‘97 before Starcade? 3.
They were all massive pieces of shit, they all about 10 minutes long (same length ans Starcade) and the intros were longer than the actual match and had about 5 wrestling moves in them. Roddy Piper bit Hulk’s ass cheek in one of them and Hulk sold the ass bite for a minute straight. The Sting match at Starcade may have been the best Hogan PPV match of the year.

      I thought Sting didn't know.

Plus the finish was them being "witty" and riffing on the Screwjob since it was the hot topic at the moment. Fricking stupid.

Because sting knows he's a shitter that never drew a dime and that the nwo was doing all the heavy lifting getting heat for him to succeed in...

    With stunts

    Not talking

    Not working or wrestling

    And a helicopter

Using a gimmick scott hall gave him, drunk off his ass.

Sting was a bigger star than Austin in '97.

Hogan killed WCW right here, it just took it a while to bleed out.

I don't understand the tan thing. His character was based on the Crow. The Crow was a dead guy. A dark character. It's not like the crow character was spending all day tanning on Venice Beach with the baywatch crew. He should have been pale.
