Biggest wrestling stage in all of pro-wrestling, seen by more people around the world than any other wrestling show in a given year.
I mean I suppose you have a point. It's not for everyone. I can see how that would be too much pressure for some people.
Kudos to your guy for not setting himself up for failure on a stage like that. It's important to understand one's own limits.

And what are those live buy-rates on All-In 2023 again? Still haven't answered that one. Were they in the 3,000,000 range?

            Anonymous

It's so interesting how you mentioned that an estimated nearly 3 million people were "watching" Wrestlemania 40, but you asked how many people "bought" All In. That's such an interesting difference to me, why did you phrase it like that?

            Anonymous

Because size of the stage implies overall people watching. WWE doesn't do traditional PPVs, it does PLEs on Peawiener. An estimated 3 million Peawiener accounts tuned in for Wrestlemania 40.

You want to insist that Wrestlemania is the second biggest stage. I assume you're implying that All-In is the biggest. So what I'm asking you for is how many people actually watched the thing so you can back up your claim. It's not hard. Don't try to deflect.

            Anonymous

Oh, right, WWE airs its shows on peawiener now. I think peawiener costs around 2.99? I think it's actually even free if you have the biggest and most ubiquitous internet service provider in the world. Y'know what, that's good for WWE. It's good that they're just putting their shows on somebody else's service and letting them handle it rather than actually asking people to pay for them. I can see how that would be too much pressure for some people. Kudos to them for not setting themselves up for failure on a stage like, it's important to understand one's own limits.

Oh, I'm sorry, I never answered your question, that's embarassing. All In did about 200,000 PPV buys. And I think Wrestlemania 40 did around 24,000 and 25,000 across both nights. Which isn't bad. If you combine them both, that's only a little bit less than TNA's last PPV.

            Anonymous

So, in summary, how many people watched Wrestlemania versus All-In?

Which is the biggest stage in professional wrestling?

            Anonymous

I just said, 200,000 vs. about 50,000. So, All In is about four times bigger than Wrestlemania. Although, that's combining both nights, so I think it would be fairest to say All In is about eight times bigger than Wrestlemania.

            Anonymous

Ah, so the 3 million Peawiener accounts that watched live don't count because, not PPV.

It's got to hurt to be this intellectually dishonest. Just accept the L, I won't think less of you. AEW is still a pretty big stage, just not as big as WWE. And Okada did grab that bag, you can't blame him for that.

            Anonymous

We're comparing apples to apples, here. It would be extremely disingenuous to compare people who watched a show for free to people who paid to watch a show, wouldn't it? Please don't get angry just because I'm not allowing you to freely lie about the situation at hand.

            Anonymous

More viewers is more viewers uce, regardless of how they watched.
Biggest stage = most viewers. This isn't hard.

            Anonymous

Because we are literally talking about the total number of eyes on an event.
            That's what "biggest stage" means.

I'm not arguing that WWE can get a lot of people to watch its show for at least a few seconds by giving it away for free. They got a very lucrative deal from Peawiener for doing so. Congratulations to them for grabbing that bag, you can't blame them for that. But if you're so lacking in confidence that you're not even comfortable asking people to pay to watch your show, you can't be the biggest stage of anything.

A busker who spends 8 hours a day on the subway playing music is probably seen by hundreds or thousands of people. Does that make that little corner of the subway station the biggest stage in music?

            Anonymous

Oh, so is the issue revenues?
So, by the estimates available, All-In sold 70,000 tickets for around $9 million USD. I admittedly don't have a number for what the other 10,000 tickets went for but I wouldn't imagine they added much to the bottom line.

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_In_(2023)#Background

Wrestlemania drew a gate of nearly $40 million in ticket sales.

            https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/report-wwe-wrestlemania-40-generated-211833041.html

So, if we're going to make the standard what people are willing to pay money to see, oh look, seems like Wrestlemania is the bigger stage again.

            Anonymous

it's very strange that you changed the subject when the discussion stopped going the way you wanted, but, because I'm a gracious person and don't want you to feel like you got nothing out of this conversation, I'll stipulate. WWE does have a niche of extremely motivated fans who will pay anything they ask to get "The WWE Experience", like a much, much smaller version of Disney, I suppose. That is an asset of theirs and they parlay it into things like the Peawiener deal quite well. I again think it speaks to a lack of confidence, but it works fine enough for them, so I'll give them credit.

So let's say All In beats Wrestlemania by about 4x on PPV and Wrestlemania beats All In by about 4x on ticket revenue. Really, it's closer to 8x on PPV and 2x on tickets because of Wrestlemania being two days, but again, I'm being a nice guy, so I won't force that point. So I'm willing to say Wrestlemania is roughly equal to All In, sometimes. Congratulations, you convinced me.

Also, it wasn't just 3 million accounts tuning into Peawiener here and there. The 3 million accounts was an estimate based off of the 1.3 billion live minutes being watched during the event.

            Nice try though.

            https://wrestlenomics.com/articles/2024/estimated-viewership-for-wwe-wrestlemania-40-night-1-night-2-april-6-7-attendance-gate-and-more/

Fair enough. WWE got people to watch 1.3 billion live minutes of their free event. Congratulations to them.

            >A busker who spends 8 hours a day on the subway playing music is probably seen by hundreds or thousands of people. Does that make that little corner of the subway station the biggest stage in music?
