He was overrated in the sense that he is being called the GOAT, but I can assure you, he isn't close to Lionel Messi.

He was insanely good though. Very gifted and one of those players that was tall, technically gifted and was insanely fast and powerful. He was very great to watch.

Because he didn't have the longevity. He had a lot injuries and was affectively done at 30. In his prime though I don't any striker touches him in terms of ability.

Zoomers on Twitter are saying he was overrated. Are they right?

He was the greatest football talent before the age of 21.
There wasn't anyone better than him as a young player. He was even better than Messi that age.
If he did not have those terrible injuries, he would have been even greater.
Especially his second injury destroyed his career, he snapped every tendon and nearly broke every bone.
Also, him being a hue meant he also did not have the most professional lifestyle.

His point is that he didn't play PL teams every week.
We all saw the way teams just surrendered against that Barcelona side, it was easier for Messi to score in la liga than it would have been in the PL.

Like if PL was "high" in and on itself. You guys are constantly mocking Haaland for obliterating Burnley, Luton or Boremoth but I unironically have to rate those teams over Sevilla, Villarreal , Atletico or Real Sociedad because some moron thinks they are better despite the former teams battering EPLel teams frequently

      Blasphemous clown opinion.
Messi played nufootball and was always protected like a polar bear.
Ronaldo played real football against legendary defenders in times when those defenders had neutral whistle.
Theres a video of Nesta hounding Ronaldo for 95 minutes.
Or some defenders of such caliber as Nesta but not as gentlmenly fairplay beatings, but leg breakong knee twisting Martin Keown types.
And everything in between. Including defenses like a triangle of Maldini, Costacurta and Gattuzo.

And for being rude and thinkong any modern fast pussy flopper gypsy could be even close I have curse prepared for you. Reply to get cursed.

Are you implying defenders don’t have to constantly foul Messi to stop him?

Ronaldo never played against the likes of Roberto Carlos, Canavaro, Ramos and Pepe (whi was notoriously violent) and Casimeiro.

I swear to god Pisstiano’s fans are more moronic than he is.

I am not implying anything zoomzoom, real football ended in mid 2000s, you can say 2007. is when football died and was replaced with nufootball or soccer as its not a sport anymore but americanized entertainment.
gays like Messi and Christina would never do anything remarkable in real football and would be forever in Neymar/ Robinho tier.

          Messi and Maradona

Maradonna comes close but only on cocaine and still a head shorter and too weak.

Cristiano was already the best young player in the PL by 2006 and considered a rising start in the world of football by the WC of that same year. Messi would follow soon.
But yeah, they'd never amount of anything remarkable. I sure would like to hear which players would've been the best in the world, if not them, in this "real football" of yours.

In 90-2000 football, being a nine often revolved around staying at offside-limit and make run or being a tap-in merchant.
R9 was the kind of player, who if by mistake you would let hum recieve the ball in the feets before the last line of defense, it was pretty much already over.
One oriented control, acceleration, strike, goal. Sometimes in a matter of 2 seconds. Think of mbappe's explosive cuts, but with better dribble. The man needed to be constantly watched and marked by 1 or 2 players, and it sometimes wasn't even enough. Defenders resorted to murderball because it was their only option.

  30. 3 weeks ago
    Anonymous

he's the biggest football "what if" of all time and most likely the scariest guy for a defender to face against.

injuries took him out too early, prior to exploding his knees he had more goals than Messi/CR7 Combined, afterwards you could see his skills showcase but his explosiveness was gone already.

for younger lads who didn't get to see anything other than highlights to "create" him, you'll need mbappe's speed, neymar's dribbling, and combine that with a ridiculous finishing ability on par with Messi or any great striker from any era

  31. 3 weeks ago
    Anonymous

    Messi's technique, Ronaldinho's flair and CRonaldo's physicality.

Shame about the exploding knees tbqh tbh mang.
