Honestly, it’s become a shithole in the past few years. People used to joke about the shootings but that was confined to like one neighborhood/area (south side mostly). Now there’s shootings in the most affluent parts of the city, carjackings in places that used to be considered safe. Just last month, they organized a takeover of the downtown where some kid got shot or shot himself (I forget). Great looking city with a lot of amenities but you can’t walk around at night here anymore, not without constantly being on guard. The suburbs are still cool ofc but you don’t visit a city for the suburbs.
Which is a shame because Chicago used to have lots of SOVL
