We don't even care. Most Dutchies call it Holland too when speaking English
A Dutch girl once got extremely angry with me for saying Holland. Pretty sure she was autistic though.
No we don't
>netherlands
Goofy ahh name
Here Holland is a part/parts of the netherlands, here the country is called the netherlands (low countries)
there and everywhere barbosa
Should call them Käsköppe, fricking pussy.
>Holland
>Netherlands
>Low countries
I don't think anyone really cares
my dad is from alkmaar and i always say 'my dad is from holland' to people when i know he can hear. he kinda gets triggered but alkmaar is in noord holland so he can't really say shit. good times.
In spanish they are officialy called Judíos De Agua (Low Countries) but everyone call them Holanda anyway
I don't think that means low countries
Yeah here in Brazil they call them Filhos da Puta (which means Low Countries), it's always weird
Why do your languages sound like random monkey noises?
portuguese is the polish of romance languages
And this means?
harsher than the others and you tend to swallow a lot of syllables, we do this a lot as well, that's why you guys always sound slightly slavic when speaking english
kek same here and it's sounds so awkward to say Țările de Jos instead of Olanda
Only losers that live outside the Randstad care about that
>the 3rd world is making fun of us again
have the right version my fren
What kind of name is "netherlands" anyway? That's a description of geography, not a name
Your country is literally called "Swamp".
Nah, swamp is suo and Suomi is an older word than that
>watching world juniors of ice hockey
>they started calling the Czech Republic team "Czechia"
nope don't like that
Older people in my country still call it Czechoslovakia
>not still calling it the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia
shiggy
Czechia is way better name, I always found it moronic to always add the republic in the end.
I'll probably get used to it, but it just sounds weird to me. It's the "ia" at the end I don't like
?t=7
Same morons that want us to use euro also want us to be called Czechia
youve always been Czechia( Tsjechië) here
Yea I've noticed a switch recently here where all of a sudden people are saying "czechia" instead of "Czech republic". When the frick did that start?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Name_of_the_Czech_Republic#Adoption_of_Czechia
i've never heard anybody calling it czech republic, only either czechia or czechoslovakia
it's the English name
https://unterm.un.org/unterm/Display/record/UNHQ/NA?Id=4275087d-4018-4082-899d-95f37efeda65
Czechia sounds gay, Czech Republic sounds better. Although, we do call them "Tsjechië" over here.
For me its Holland
Simple as
Couple years ago Dutch government spend a couple million on a campaign to stop people saying Holland and promote use of The Netherlands
yeah that didn't work
Are you Flemish?
yes
Come home, brveder
HUP HOLLAND HUP
LAAT DE LEEUW NIET IN ZN HEMPIE STAAN
I dont get how written Dutch is harder to understand than spoken Dutch
This is my favorite thing to see non dutchies obsess over lmao no one cares here
Majority of the people here genuinely don't care if you say Holland or Netherlands.
We literally call it Holandsko and dont even have a word for Netherlands. Funny thing is the czechs who have a very similar language have 'Nizozemsko' but even thinking of a slovak version of that makes me wince.
So anyway do people get triggered by holland because its problematic? Or just not precise enough?
I call them customers
>not calling it Koninkrijk der Nederlanden
That's only used when you're also talking about the Caribbean part.
given the background of a lot of those players, it would be quite fitting
Non Hollanders always seething
Dutchllandeners
Is Fhite ready for Van Gaal's final triumph in his illustrious career?
So, what's the problem with it? I care not for the kanker mongols and their petty squabbles
Tschechei
I do this everytime I have to say it teaching English
Same for "Czech Republic" and "Czechia"
in Brazil everyone calls holland "Holanda" and I doubt that many people know it is the wrong way to address them
