People who know nothing about the case still repeat that line today because they think Benoit was some kind of unique case, but he wasnt, he was just one of the first high profile CTE cases. He was one of the first big names to have his brain donated. The reality is everybody has CTE. Test had CTE and he hardly had a long or particularly extreme career. Most living fighters and old school wrestlers will have brains that look similar to Benoit's. All the ECW guys and Foley have way worse CTE brains. All the retired boxers. The actual effects of CTE are still up for debate, nobody really knows how it impacts people for sure. It may look similar to an alzheimer's patient's brain, but it certainly doesn't behave like one
