I'm not sure how many of the left-handed pitchers and batters are normally left-handed in their everyday lives. Orioles All-Star John Means pitches left-handed, but he's said that he's right-handed in everyday life. I think a fair number of lefty players are natural righties who taught themselves to play lefty in order to increase their value.

when I played soccer, I typically played left wing or midfield, I spent weeks exclusively using my left foot at practice in order to strengthen as well as form muscle memory. I was still obviously stronger with my right and when I had the opportunity to strike, would shoot right footed, but I could cross as well as any left footer.
