They were given the cartoon gimmick because they weren't over before then either. The Brits fricking suck in general and kill the interest of every feud and segment they're in but GYV were the worst of the worst, matched only by Phallus.

They were basically spooky youth ministers. Dumb yeah, but hardly a cartoon in the world of pro wrestling. Guys have survived much worse or more outlandish gimmicks before, and even thrived.
