Pretty good. Cody is a great storyteller and AJ looked the best he has in years. I hope Cody's gimmick becomes having grueling 30 minute main events and the injuries keep piling up until he can go no longer and gets pinned by Gunther in mere seconds.
I enjoyed it. Two gold ol’ Georgia boys putting on a clinic for a hot French crowd. I do really think Cody needs to stop the Cody Cutter before he fricks his shoulder up beyond repair. I also think the Cross Rhodes has run it’s course. That move is so ugly to watch.
I really liked when Cody did the kimura lock. It should be a staple of his moveset and honestly he should've adopted it as such straight after his Summerslam Brock match. It gives that feud and the way it ended a lot more meaning.
Cody should develop a gimmick where he adopts moves from people he's vanquished >Pedigree from Seth >Kimura from Brock >? from Nakamura >he should take the drive-by from Roman
What could he take from Styles?
That kind of is his backstage gimmick. He doesn't even ask permission. He says if he has been in a match with you then he gets full access to your moveset. He has the enemy skill materia equipped at all times
It was the first title match without interfence BS since Roman beat Matt Riddle on June 17, 2022. Really just puts into perspective how awful and shitty his "dominant" main event run was.
i agree, it checked all the boxes for what i love in wrestling. you had actual selling, logical in ring storytelling that progressed through out the match, based call back spots that didn't detract from the match, some legitimately impressive and scary looking moves... a great crowd too.
