I'm not saying it's a good thing, or that it should remain this way. I'm just saying how it is and how it will remain. Pro/rel in American sports would be great, but I don't see it happening.
>Instead of operating as an association of independently owned clubs, MLS is a single entity in which each team is owned by the league and individually operated by the league's investors.[15]
Embrace the quirks of American sports rather than trying to cater to a bunch of zoomers that would rather just watch the PL. Actually get creative with team names instead of calling everything [city name] FC. Also stop fricking calling them FC if your league is called Major League Soccer.
>Conferences >Central ownership >Single-elimination playoffs >Nearly nonexistent international play >No promotion/relegation >Four month offseason
It's already the moronic, plastic, Americanized version of a sports league.
Just raise salary caps. Noone really cares about promo/relegation. Same people repeating it are the same people that support whatever top euro teams that are never even close to relegation.
Get rid of the salary cap, or at least triple it, and also modify the moronic NFL-style draft. Make it meritocratic so that the champions get the first picks.
Doesn't need fixing. It's the best soccer you can watch. I guess one thing would be to get rid of the troon r*ddit fanbase, but that applies to all soccer
I hope that Republicans will do something to ban and forbid "soccer" before mutts destroy the sport. I also hope it disappears in this cold shithole. Nothing more embarrassing than a North American trying to get into "soccer", they're corporate and plastic af. >inb4 flag
Don't care homosexual I'll be long gone to my country of origin when shit hit the fan, cope and seethe. And we have an actual football culture there, not led by sodomites and women kek.
Nobody cares about relegation. The viewership numbers of bottom teams of any league are low. All that matters is the salary cap and having good players. It's inevitable with the salary cap consistently going up that the MLS will be a top league like other major sports leagues in North America.
you forgot mexico.
Importing people who like soccer > more people watching soccer > more money being spent on soccer > more people interested in playing soccer > bigger talent pool
How the frick would I know I’m not from Singapore
Depends. How does one polish a turd?
Bigger goals
more ngubus
Make it more welcoming to the LGBTCIA and Latinx communities (colloquially known as “homosexuals” and “spics”)
We don't. Soccer is gay
mexicans don't even like soccer
Relegation
To what?
Every team owner has paid a massive "license fee" to have their team. They're not going to allow relegation.
Sorry but that doesn't matter

Crazy how USL is more entertaining and soulful than the MLS

The draft is basically irrelevant now
Most teams get their youth players from their academies
Less Americans, pay bigger salaries for foreign players.

Liquidate Columbus and transfer all of their asterisk and Mickey Mouse trophies to Austin where they belong.

Current MLS divisions become 2nd tier, MLS Cup becomes promotion playoff to new combined MLS Prestige top division.
