Leaving the Cavaliers was a valid choice, they were a shit organization that was wasting his career.

But the mercenary team-hopping that ensued afterwards was pretty shameless. Getting btfo by Dallas despite having a rigged team with three all-stars was pretty pathetic. Going back to Cleveland seemed like a sentimental decision and I'm sure that there was some element of that but he only did it because he saw Miami declining and a chance to rig the game again with Kyrie and all those tradeable assets. Then the Lakers move, which was the most cheesy one yet. And now the whining about having to lie in the bed he made. No other all-timer was such a self-serving prick with no loyalty to his fans or teammates except maybe Rick Barry and everybody hates him, too

He didn't have to go back to Cleveland. Sure, Kyrie was there, but he could have gone to another team and probably had a better chance to win.

There is no argument for him to be ranked ahead of Stephen Curry, who:
    - Has just as many titles and reached title number four at a younger age;
    - Has won three Finals head-to-head against LeBron;
    - Has lost a single Finals head-to-head against LeBron while injured and while Iguodala, James' primary defender, was injured
In addition, his success has been largely dependent on getting away with offensive fouls and traveling. He should foul out of every game due to offensive fouls if he were to be officiated correctly.

His game has never been aeathetically pleasing. MJ had great numbers but also was amazingly fun to watch. So was Magic.

Lebron is an all time great, but not THE greatest because like Kareem his game was too dependant on his height and strength. He always has had shit handles, and uses his elbows to brute force to the rim.

This. His game isn’t enjoyable especially compared to Jordan’s. He relies too much on his size, bull in a China shop drives to the hoop. Mental midget. Too many embarrassing moments. 2011 Finals when he was like 27. Mocking Dirk and then losing to him. Ring chasing. Feminine b***hing at the refs. Wears number 23. Made a shitty space jam sequel. Kinda ugly dude. His shoes suck compared to Jordans. I can respect him leaving Cleveland the first time but he really should have stayed in Miami and built a legacy there. Immature douche at times. Too many instances of giving up on a play and pouting. Played in the weakest East ever. Failed to make the playoffs 2 years in LA. Etc. instead of just being a baller he tried to manufacture himself into the goat.

You can't debate his status objectively, there is a culture built around hating him.
LeBron is the type of player fans and owners hate the most, he is definition of no loyalty.
He will go wherever he has best opportunity and dip when his contract is over, how fans feel doesn't matter to him.
Dan Gilbert the cavs owner infamously wrote a letter telling the cavs fans they don't need him and to look forward to team success after he left to miami, only to tank for four years and has only kyrie to show for it.

Personally I don't care where players go, its professional sport and at the end money always win.

But claim that he is not goat because he is not skilled don't watch basketball, it take more than speed and strenght to be great in basketball, you can look at someone like Westbrook he is quick and explosive, but can't even make a fricking layup. Reading defence, slowing down to confuse defenders finishing with both hands, accurate pass in transition. And he learned how to shoot..
Only thing you can nitpick is his lackluster defence in regular season but he is high usage rate player, he has played more minute than MJ kareem... even game adjusted. Scored more points on less shot attempts.

He had long career and dominated an era full of talents, from kobe dirk Duncan kg KD curry kawhi and listen go on. He could had more rings if kd didnt form most broken team of all time. He was in his prime with kyrie, they would have went back to back at least.

He didn't dominate shit. Lebron played in the weakest conference, had 1-4 seeds and a cakewalk to the conference finals every year and they would choke. He decides to create a super team and even they choked.

        Anonymous

There's only 2 conferences dumbass. Why does the strength matter so much to you fricking dumb people if each starting lineup theoretically has 5 players to send at LeBron every single game.

          Anonymous

          >There's only 2 conferences

yeah which is why when you're in the top-heavy one with like two good teams it makes it pretty easy because you can basically just coast until you get to the conference finals. LeBron's average postseason went:

          >sweep an 8 seed that only made the playoffs because technically somebody had to
          >play second round series against a team that would have been the 8 seed in the west
          >finally play half-decent team in ECF, which, to his credit, he would beat
          >lose to western conference champ more often than not

Owning an entire conference for almost a decade is not a bad stretch but let's be real. Not a single person on earth could claim the East was as deep as the West, nor even close to it. The West had the Warriors, Dirk's Mavs, the tail end of the Spurs dynasty....the East had that Derrick Rose Bulls team that was good for almost one whole year before he suffered his inevitable injury, and...the Pacers, I guess? I know they seemed good because they were always in the playoffs but Roy Hibbert was their 2nd best player.

            Anonymous

You can put him in any conference, people are still seething that he won his second year in the West. It doesn't matter where he plays or how he wins, it's going to be criticized and devalued
            >The Celtics Big 3 who people insists were "washed" by any stretch of the imagination, when for about 3 years from the moment they stomped the Lakers in the 08 finals they consistently held onto 60 and 50-win seasons with top seedings. It was only in 2012 that they truly burnt out. They had dominated the East for 3 whole years.
            >60-win Van Gundy Magic team with 3x DPOY Dwight Howard and Vince Carter + big lanky sharpshooters. Genuinely could not be stopped if their shooters got hot because they were too tall to reliably contest, and they had the #1 ranked defense in the NBA when they beat LeBron in 09 who still averaged 38/8/8 on 49%
            >The 60-win Pistons team who held on for a bit even after their 6 consecutive eastern conference finals runs from 2003-2008, which pretty much coincides with the birth of the Big 3 Celtics
            >The 60 wins Bulls led by Derrick Rose, as you mentioned, were still good

He had playoff runs in the East all the way back to 2006 and his numbers barely changed. The East was good until about 2014 when even the 54-win Melo/J.Kidd/J.R Smith Knicks fell off too. So the East was good longer than it was bad. 2014-2018 is only 4 fricking years of the East being complete dogshit.

Coming to accept LeBron is a baby who will never be goat after religiously watching his games from 2008-2019 marked the completion of my childhood. I’ve never been the same since. Skip, I kneel.

2008 is when I started following his career too. I did not come to the conclusion that he's a bad player however. I still don't understand how anyone can.

I consider him in the top 5, for sure. Regular season records, only Kareem is clearly greater. Post-season, MJ is greater on a per-game basis. But no player has ever equalled LeBron in the whole offensive game: scoring, rebounds, assists. His playoff teams were essentially the same as MJ - Pippen and Rodman all rolled into one guy.

LeBron is the only player to lead a conference championship team in points, assists and rebounds four times. Hakeem is the only player who comes close to that total domination of a championship team.

Jordan 3-peated twice. Lebron will always be the second best and unfortunately that's all he'll ever be.

lebron is top 3, Here's why

    went to 10 championships straight
    4 rings
    incredibly dominant
if steph curry doesnt exist he has a better record that jordan

Or Jason Terry / Dirk nowitski or kawhi lenoard.

Lebron is soft he just gives up when things aren't going his way. Kobe literally shot free throws on a torn muscle just to make sure he didn't lose

There are many valid critiques of LeBron but the whole "why doesn't he stay on the sideline during the final minute of a thirty point blowout for the HECKIN TEAM SPIRIT!?!" narrative is the most Reddit shit ever. Ten year olds in little league care about that sort of thing, not grown pro athletes. The kind of people who make videos like this are the same ones who would ask Kyrie stupid ass questions about LeBron being a father figure, as if Kyrie was supposed to be thinking "OH BOY I want to make daddy LeBron proud I hope he watches the last minute of my big game :-)" These are professionals not kids, they don't give a frick if the starters go back and ice/watch tape at the tail end of a blowout.

It would have some merit if the 'statpadder' argument weren't leveraged against him every time he stays in.

If they don't want him to stay and pad his stats, people shouldn't complain when he doesn't.

The worst is people getting angry that NBA players are friends with each other, or that they smile during press conferences after losses instead of being depressed and suicidal.

he just has the optics of being a giant b***h which isn't a good look for a goat. He might be the greatest talent the game has ever seen and shatter most major longevity records but he'll never be able to shake that perception for a lot of people. He also took ring chasing and player collusion to a whole other level yet has way fewer rings then you'd expect. It's especially funny since he himself thought that he checkmated the league when he went to miami

Lebron only has 2 rings as a bus driver and an Olympic Bronze. He was getting punked by Carlos Arroyo and JJ Barea.

“For me, it’s putting our team in position to be successful. It starts with my approach,” James said. “It starts with my accountability and trickles down to everybody else. These shoulders were built for a reason and if it takes for me to put more on top of it then so be it. Win, lose or draw. I’m ready for the challenge.”

I respect his early playoff runs in clevland
    >cant hit free throws, biggest weakness and has lost series and important games because of it. Huge weakness that removes what made him so great in the early years.
    >gets locked up by JJ Barrea. No one else in contention for the greatest of all time could ever get locked up by JJ Barrea. Hell, G.O.A.T by position across the board wouldnt get locked up by Barrea for a series let alone a game
    >when it matters, someone else has had to force the win for all finals in his career except the micky mouse one
    >the bubble finals WAS a micky mouse chickenshit ring
    >huge criticism about Lebron's success being tied to being in the eastern conference
    >switches over to the western and doesnt even make the fricking playoffs 2/4 years. (or was it 1/3?) cant remember whatever its pathetic
    >majority of his career stats, which is what has drawn him his casual fanbase came from 4th quarter loss-blowouts where teams would let him walk in to the basket so that they could burn the clock out
    >zero dog in him

That loss to the Mavs will ALWAYS be the absolute worst thing that happened in Lebron's career. They had no reason losing that finals

If he was 6-4 then sure. But 4-6, there's no argument to be made.
Most of LeBrons records are longevity records, he's simply played more than anyone else, which are of course still admirable. He'll have played 20 seasons by next season and he'll probably retire around 22.

As a singular performer he probably is the greatest simply given how he's still an offensive force even heading into age 37.
But in all other aspects, such as leadership and making your teammates better, I'd put Jordan and Magic above LeBron. I might even say Curry as well if not for the sham KD rings.

If anything, the KD rings are just as valuable since him leaving didn't affect the team, but Steph getting hurt certainly didm

Oh nooo the 90s basket was so awesome.
homies used to act like real homies.
And MJ used to make fade away and shit, make less than half and get a foul everytime he drive to the basket.

You can't name a player in last 20 years better than him.

Right now he's third all time for me but will finish second (above Kareem) if he breaks his scoring record and has two more all star seasons, which he likely will. To match up with Jordan he needs one more ring/FMVP and even then the GOAT debate would still be like 60/40 in favor of Jordan in my mind. If he gets two more rings though he's the actual GOAT.

    Roiddhead.
Half his finals runs are rigged with refball bullshit.
He gets away with taking 4 steps and pushing homies .
His bubble kobe run was as rigged as it gets.
He could punch a guy and not get called for a foul.
3-1 lead comeback was also obviously rigged.
Draymond gets suspended, Curry gets 6 phantom fouls and Lebron gets away with murder.
Not to mention the superstar stacking teams.
Most manufactured NBA player in history.
If refs were fair, he would have like 2 rings with Miami in 5 finals.
