Meltzer's numbers went way down after a few months of AEW and then he started his hot-takes Twitter personality to try and drum up interest. Cornette was already the number one podcast and all the 'influence' he has seems to really bother Dave who reached a peak around when Okada was coming up and Meltzer was 'the guy'. I can't blame him for wanting to stay on top, but what he did didn't work.
