What made it good? I dont watch any wrestling. Who are they? What happened? Are they individually good wrestlers? What are their best individual matches?
What was good about this match? They were just slogging around for 20 minutes and then finisher spammed at the end. Austin Theory vs Pat McAfee was way better
>When Codeman brought that Bull Rope out
How hard did you pop?
It's been thirty long years but we're back in the main event, bull rope chads. That alone made it my personal favorite from the last 3 decades.
Nujachad here, yes. I don't even like Cawdy or Rollins but they schooled All Petite, put on a match that made sense from start to finish with no hokey and fake bullshit involved, something that AEW still hasn't accomplished and probably never will.
>put on a match that made sense from start to finish with no hokey and fake bullshit involved
except for the part where a guy with 1 arm was competitive at all
One of the best Hell in a cell matches I've seen too. Thank you Cody for giving Seth a HiaC match he doesn't have to be embarrassed about years later. Out perform Fiend with one arm, pretty based.
The callback to the Fiend thing with the toolbox waa uberkino, where's the guy who owns the toolbox now? He's a poster here, must have loved that.
best cell match without leaving the cell
That was one of the best parts, they didn't do the exact same shit and went a different direction. Just for not climbing it or going out they can rightfully do all that shit next time if they want and I wont be mad.
Toolshit is moronic. Uh let's settle who is the best wrestler in a cage designed to prevent lame outside interference. Instead random deadly weapons will make run ins from under the ring like fricking hornswoggle
>El Phantasmo
WHO >Robbie Eagles
WHO >FTR
WH- Wait, I actually knew these guys once. FTR is a dumb name though. >Briscoes
WHO >Daddy Mustard
WHO >The Furious Five
WHO
>Off the top of my head, El Phantasmo vs. Robbie Eagles, FTR vs Briscoes and Daddy Mustard vs The Furious Five were all easily better.
have sex for the love of god
Disagree. I thought the match was boring. I think it has to do with the fact that it was a HIAC match but they didn't wrestle like it was a cell match. I was expecting some crazy spots with the cell and it barely factored into the match. I pr would have liked it more if it was just a no DQ match. My expectations wou have been different
There are generally two schools of thought on this >Cage match means climbing the cage / jumping off it and stuff like that >Real cage match doesn't leave the cage unless it's to win
In my opinion, they do the climbing and jumping shit everytime now so it was good to not do it for once.
Can somebody explain to me why the crowd was so dead? Was the PPV hot until that point? I see that wwe fans only pop for some entrances now
They didn't have a buffer match like they always do, for example a woman's match between the co-main and main event, and they had Theory vs. Ali, where Ali was a hometown guy and they had a match with a lot of big stuff, plus the heel won over the hometown face so that always kills the crowd plus they were tired out from that match and needed a break but didn't get it. The reveal of Cody's injury also shocked alot of people. WWE knows what they are doing and didn't have a buffer match on purpose so I think they were trying to test Cody, and it's a testament to Cody and Seth that they got the crowd back into it and ended hot, things could have went really bad and a Chicago crowd also could have just said frick it and turned on the face.
They were grossed out by Cody's titty falling off and grotesque bruises all over his side. At some point it isn't entertaining to watch a dude get tortured in a gay choreographed match
>Match of the Year candidat
One match in a PPV.
One match in a PPV feat. a former AEW guy.
One match in a PPV feat. a former AEW guy who nobody ranked until he returned to WWE.
Thanks, AEW! Thanks, Tony Khan!
I'm convinced that everyone that's being a nitpicking moron, calling this "boring" or saying the crowd wasn't into it is just a coping aewtist doing their absolute best to try to damage control.
This performance was legendary and it will be hailed as such by the Fed. Cody will become world champ and this match will forever be in every top list that's written from here on out.
he wouldn't, but he would project about others being in a cult to pretend like he isn't in the biggest cult around. #standupforwwe

uh oh the cultist is going into projection overdrive, gotta pretend it's not him who is the cultist, gotta pretend it's not him getting boiling mad, gotta #standupforwwe at. all. costs.
Sledgehammer is fricking moronic. Wtf Cody slobbering HHH's knob it is gross. The sledgehammer is a literal lethal weapon. It was always moronic. So the moronic addition of the sledge took at least a tip off of a star. 4.8 stars / 69
I think Best of Three feuds are the worst, but thanks to Cody's injury, they lucked into the correct path: Cody wins all matches decisively. Wrestling thru injury was just the babyface cherry on top.
Had Seth won, it would have likely soured me on Cody's Mania match retroactively. But now? Now they can build up Cody as they did Roman. Go full undefeated streak until Mania and then have Cody go over there too. Cody should never lose. And whenever he's not on screen, other wrestlers should ask, where's Cody?
Also, CM Punk now stands for: >Close (but no) Milly Pussy
would have been if that stooge rollins wasn't in there making funny faces. literally just cackling like an autist what is his gimmick I thought he was a messiah now he reminds me of the mentally disabled boy that always laughed with peas and mash in his mouth sitting at the mongoloid table at lunch.
probably not but doesn't matter since it will probably be better for his career or legacy that any award or stars or whatever. that was his mankind falling off the cell moment. no one remembers anything else that happened in the match but it doesn't matter because it made him a star.
Sami vs johnny at mania was better
It's basically between these two right now.

Why are you here -_-
Post spam on all boards.
Both are great wrestlers and this match was great.
One of them was wrestling whilst having a torn peck
It was the standard 3 star cody match, but cody was wrestling while hurt
Agree to disagree
So far? It's up there. But we have a whole six months left. Who knows what else is coming are way.

He shoulda used that cowbell shit not the sledge which was moronic af.

Except he was competitive and everyone was into it by the end of the match so it wan't hokey.
He was against Rollins
>a guy with 1 arm was competitive at all
anon, he was against seth rollins...

best cell match without leaving the cell
In that case, batista vs hunter was better
Certainly not but definitely top 10 material. Will probably end up near the 5th or 6th best spot.
Off the top of my head, El Phantasmo vs. Robbie Eagles, FTR vs Briscoes and Daddy Mustard vs The Furious Five were all easily better.
how much weight lad? up around 400?
Right now? 195. Usually around 205 but started fasting and am down a bit from normal. Current goal is 220 ish.

The crowd was tired at that point and the match had a lot of filler and spots nobody cared about. They only popped for the tables.
They kept wincing at Cody's purple chest, also this
E-drones are always dead why are you surprised?
I was there, there was a lot of chatter about the injury for the early portions of the match, happening around me
They were grossed out by Cody's titty falling off and grotesque bruises all over his side. At some point it isn't entertaining to watch a dude get tortured in a gay choreographed match

cant see anything in wwe beating it thats for sure
Disagree. Not CANDIDATE, it's THE MOTY. To say it's merely a candidate is an insult.
no, because it wasn't a good "wrestling" match.
it definitely did keep you watching though, just out of sheer worry for Cody, which was on a personal level, bigger than wrestling.
Didn't watch but doubt it, WWE hasn't had a MOTY candidate in 2 decades.
>WWE hasn't had a MOTY candidate in 2 decades.
wow aew must be shit then
>t. cultist
why would a cultist be insulting his own cult?
he wouldn't, but he would project about others being in a cult to pretend like he isn't in the biggest cult around. #standupforwwe

During the gamethreads most of you homosexuals were sperging out about codys injury being horror makeuo, now yall saying its a best of the year match.
It was clearly a tattoo of an injury.
Sledgehammer is fricking moronic. Wtf Cody slobbering HHH's knob it is gross. The sledgehammer is a literal lethal weapon. It was always moronic. So the moronic addition of the sledge took at least a tip off of a star. 4.8 stars / 69
Trannies really are having a lot of trouble dealing with this lmao
Wardlow is God.
Definitely the match of the 2020s so far
agreed
Match of the Decade brother
I agree.

MOTY. It gave me Michael Jordan flu game vibes
probably not but doesn't matter since it will probably be better for his career or legacy that any award or stars or whatever. that was his mankind falling off the cell moment. no one remembers anything else that happened in the match but it doesn't matter because it made him a star.
yes
I liked the ladies triple threat and the Owens match more.
