The efficiency argument is nonsense. During the late 90, and 2000's , no players were shooting 50% fg besides bigs. Not Ray Allen, not Vince Carter, not Iverson, not Carmelo, etc. Kobe shot above League average for that time. Which was way more defensive than the soft sissy ball of today.
