This does make sense, if you build up a feud with someone and that clashes with the rock coming back making you choose between telling rock to frick off or killing whoever you choose as cody's opponent's heat, it's a much better idea to just drag things out for a while instead with a good worker like AJ who can very quickly go back to feuding with LA Knight. Not very exciting but the rock coming back will get things running again pretty quick.

Its the Daniel Bryan problem. Though in his case he got hurt, but his stuff with Kane as a first challenger was okay. What comes after the big chase? Well nothing, because no one has been built up for it. No one will probably be ready until SummerSlam.
Cody's run peaked before he even won the title. The only feud that could even come close is Orton and you just know that will go on for 3-5 months and overstay its welcome. Cody could be in big trouble when he eventually has to feud with LA Knight. I can see them trying to turn Knight heel and it flopping big time
A feud with Gunther could be great too, but if they go overboard with the USA vs Germany stuff it might come across as corny. A Punk feud could be great too, but he's on RAW so you better get used to seeing Cody vs Solo and Logan Paul buddy, because they're probably going to be two of the main feuds going forward.
