Racism aside, wasn't it just a managerial blunder to put such young players on for the shootout?

Racism aside, wasn't it just a managerial blunder to put such young players on for the shootout? Like yeah he got there but he blew it with a stupid self-promoting choice.
No wonder the team quit on him.

Doesn't so much matter that the players were young. What matters is none of them had a good game or even tournament.

You don't think that being young matters when you're under that much pressure? lol

Both of them had years of experience and were our best pen takers.

None of them had ever taken a penalty like that. Are you moronic?
Years? Pfft. A couple, I guess. Kane had experience and he made his.
You're telling me Rashford, Saka, and Sancho are your best penalty takers? No way.

Rashford's penna record is one of the best in the England squad, so he was always going to be taking one.

So explain Sancho who was dogshit for his club and Saka then.
Also Rashford had only taken one penalty for the entire year prior for United, who obviosuly felt BRUNO and Ronaldo were better.

Yeah! Why didn't Southgate bring on Bruno and Ronaldo to take pens instead??

            >i'm only pretending to be moronic
right, or someone more experienced, like fricking Grealish. Or maybe call up fricking Vardy. And if he was rusty for whatever reason why use him?

not an argument Hans. You're defending Southgate and Saka and Sancho? Frick off.

            >for England
Irrelevant as Kane has been our first choice penalty taker for years and years now. There's few players other than him that actually do, so I don't know what your point is there.

ok then what is relevant? he's supposed to be good at pens but other than a few for dirtmound in regular games/

Well the only thing you really can rely on is their penna form at club level and in training.
How many of the England squad in the Euros have taken penalties for England?

            >you don't agree with my post so frick off
Nice argument *hovers over flag* thailand
Bringing Vardy to the Euro just so he can be subbed on in case there might be a penalty shootout is not an option and not a valid argument

I don't think Sancho's record was bad either.
Saka is the real illogical one as I don't think he ever took a penalty outside of training.
I know people have said before, but his selection feels more about him trying to achieve some social justice brownie point. If they'd scored and England won, we'd never had heard the end of how blacks won us the Euros, not Pickford's penna save, or the two Harry's, it would have only been about the black lads. Just look at France's 2018 WC win, or how out media were claiming Sterling carried us to the final.

Last time Snatcho scored one for England was a U17. Both of them were bad choices. Rashford maybe on the bubble.

Again you can say whatever you want but Southgate himself said it was based on what they did in training which seems incredibly stupid to me.

p.s. obviously i get the racial propaganda but I'm saying even if that wasn't it, it's still ridiculously bad managing. the english press will never let you fire southgate for putting on blacks to make a point and failing. but kids?
How did he get away with that?

To be fair Rashford didn't choke when he had to take the penalty at 90+4 mins to kick PSG out of CL but that was over 2 years prior to the Euro final
His performance and confidence already down the shitter in 2021
Also, taking out Henderson for any of these kids lmao, I don't think any sane manager would do that

It broke Sancho and probably will break the other two in the long run, if there's anything left of Lord Rashford anyway.

Rashford is now too afraid to even do a simple cross man, he's dead (Watch as Southgate still calling him for the WC)

Southgate said “I decided on the penalty takers based on what they have done in training."
So that moron decided to put these kids on in the biggest football moment in 50+ years for the country because of what they did... in training? not even at their clubs or in club cups and you're defending that?
          Frick off. He's a moron.

Selecting Saka to take a pen was a ridiculous decision, way too inexperienced to handle that sort of pressure. Bringing on penalty takers in the final minute when they were completely cold was a daft idea too. Totally fricked it up.

Conte did it in 2016. But both him and Zaza got mocked by press for it.

The real managerial blunder was deciding to park the bus for 88 minutes and not killing the game off when Italy were so obviously rattled for the first 30.

It was pure politics, sorry but was obvious. They already had the images and headlines ready for 'The Thee Lions' or diversity just ready to declare a new age. They thought they would sneak past, but fricked around and found out. That's what happens when you put being woke above actually winning. Frick that horsefaced c**t
