McDonald's has always been crap in my country, and it was more of an emergency solution, if no other option was available, but more recently prices have been too fricking insane to use it even in those situations.
You get better food for less at practically no extra effort by simply opening a map app and looking around.

No. It did start to taste more...plastic(?) in the past ten years but what I like about it is that you always know what you're getting and its almost always the same at every location. Their quality control is insane. Its not high quality by any means but its standardized. That itself is comforting whereas other franchises you just never know. They pay their employees decently so you don't get the absolute bottom of the barrel nogs on crack like you do at a lot of other fast food chains. Their breakfast is the real star of the show tho. Idk if you other countries have the same breakfast options but nothing hits like a sausage egg and cheese McMuffin with a hash brown patty in the morning. Being the most famous and largest fast food chain they are also under the most scrutiny in terms of activists trying to catch them doing shady/unhealthy shit with the food so that is a big reason why it is so standardized and mid in terms of quality. It's like 3D printed food which is awful in a lot of ways but also comfy in a dystopian robotic way where I have no feelings or emotions. McDonalds hits that mark. It has gotten expensive but its not THAT bad. Everything has.
