          >the only sports that exist are football and american football
I'd argue basketball players in the NBA run more each game than football players, but they have constant ad breaks to recover afterwards.
None of the most popular sports have the fittest athletes anyway, it would be something like long distance runners

if you're talking team sports nobody runs more than footballers and it is very far from close. Football players run about 6 miles a game, NFL and NBA players run about 1.5 miles. Rugby would be closer but will still be miles short of football

            >Football players run about 6 miles a game, NFL and NBA players run about 1.5 miles
You're an idiot just ignoring posts already calling out the fact they aren't running constantly during football matches. Distance covered does not mean they're running, and you're also lying about the average NBA player only covering 1.5 miles per match.

How can anyone claim this if they actually watch the sport? It's mostly light jogging and walking with the occasional sprint

Whenever there is a thread about the fittest athletes, most people agree on boxers until someone comes along and mentions cross-country skiers. Those are endurance athletes, however, so I will stick with boxers for the purposes of this thread.

Do boxers have more stamina than MMA fighters?

        Anonymous

Pretty much impossible to judge since it's very different forms of endurance.
Any boxer who goes into a high-level wrestling and grappling exchange would gass after 2 minutes, and on the other side there's a reason every MMA-fighter cross-over has been 5 or 8 rounds and not the standard amount.
GSP, the MMA GOAT known for his non-stop pressure and high pace, and also had his majority of fights go all 25 min, famously said he only did sparring for 25 mins at a time every day with the logic being that there would never be a situation where he would have to perform for more than 25 min, so he saw 30+ min sparring sessions as pointless since he would be training for something he was never going to do.
I don't think he ever really gassed, though many of his opponents did.

You would think MMA fighters would have more stamina since they also have to deal with wrestling and people sitting on top of you.

Depends on how you define stamina
There was a small study that compared elite athletes from different sports and found that Rowers had the highest VO2 max. Personally, I think that had more to do with the way that sports is done. Rowing involves a movement pattern that perfectly aligned to optimal breathing, whereas almost every other athlete disrupts their breathing regularly when breathing for example holding your breath when kicking a ball or lifting a strong weight or jumping. Rowing doesn't. Even running interrupts breathing to some degree.

The big takeway from it was there wasn't all that much difference between endurance athletes. Sure the shotput and gymnaatics and so on were far lower, but once anyone trains for endurance, they well...they train for endurance and it becomes just how much you train.

You may want to check that numb dick of yours, it just doesn’t really do that. Ask a girl to blow you when it happens and see if the sensitivity comes back. Also you get your kick just from overpowering a female speciwoman, I do anyway.
