Baseball, however is a better sport because most of the players are more low key about the things they do. Sure there are some player that do shit as well, but it not as outrageous as basketball players. Baseball is more of an intense sport because of scoring situations that can get you to a very close game where one swing is all it takes to end your night; while despite basketball can do the same, it has been less so, and only important during playoff times. Also the popularity of basketball comes from the many social media accounts associated with certain players, but much of them are just obnoxious dumb homosexuals like Ja Morent. Michael Jordan turned the NBA into a vehicle for superstar-type individual players, nobody even plays it as a team sport anymore. They're all trying to outplay their own team mates so they can get better sponsors and media coverage and pop culture penetration, which means the sport has a lot more normalgay appeal because people follow and obsess over individual players. Nobody cares about the NBA season, they just want to know the statistics of their favourite player. Same issue soccer has developed.
But even Jordan played as a team player, because he relied on his teammates to pull weight. However, like you said, media and pop culture penetration is on the mind of these players now a days. Baseball does have individuals like that but they all play as a team and they don't feel singled out. In baseball if one guy messes up, they all lose. In the NBA and NFL, if one guy messes up, they will blame the others.
