Why is AEW's women's division so dire?
That's not to say WWE's is good but at least they have a few women at the top that can put on a decent performance when needed. With AEW, it's just shit top to bottom. Just look at their current women's champion. She's had nothing but terrible matches through her entire reign.

Who cares? They just need to be eye candy. Nobody even fricking watches womeme's wrestling so I don't understand why anyone needs to take it seriously. Gayew also has one of the better women's rosters that I've seen. That's not saying much because women fricking suck at wrestling no matter how hard they try.
It's a shame that Athena is stuck in ROH despite being the best female wrestler Tony Khan has.

I actually think that on a week to week basis, AEW has better women's matches than main roster WWE. Just so many sloppy 3-minute women's matches on Raw and Smackdown with shitters like Maxine. But on the higher-end (big PPV/PLE matches), WWE is significantly better.

The quality of AEW's women's division has gone up tremendously from where they were in the beginning. They've brought in lots veterans who can actually wrestle and many of their young female talents have improved a lot. It doesn't suck anymore. But their problem is that they simply don't enough TV time, especially compared to women in WWE. One of the downsides of having long, epic matches is that there's less time in the show for other matches. AEW needs to find a way to use their time better. If NXT can fit two women's matches in their shows, so can AEW. They ought to shave 2 to 5 minutes off of most of their matches. Longer matches aren't inherently good matches. Meltzerism doesn't draw.
Because Tony genuinely doesn't give a shit about it and only has it because you "have" to have one to be taken seriously as a western promotion. He'd get rid of it if he could. He only makes changes when gets sick of the b***hing.
