WWE and AEW WILL end up working amicably together

>Everyone in AEW wants it (except for like CM Punk) and have openly spoken about working together
>Everyone in WWE watches AEW and tweets openly about it to no controversy
>Baron Corbin who used to shit on AEW now watches every week and praises it
>WWE no longer counter-programming AEW with NXT or Rampage with Smackdown
>WWE asking Tony Khan for cameos from the AEW roster, Jericho was on Austin’s podcast
>Vince is gone, Stephanie, Paul and Nick all want it
>Many other examples I’m not mentioning right now

WWE saw all the hype Forbidden Door got and wanted to get in on the supershow hype.

Kenny vs. AJ is for hardcore fans. The Elite vs. Bloodline (Kenny vs Roman, Bucks vs Usos) is the money if they want to do a super show. Although they could also have Mox inserted into Seth vs Rollins instead because WWE loves their Shield reunions.

Kenneth had his chance. If he went to WWE from 2017-2019, it would change nothing about the timeline. Every company would have improved from it.

Vince is the only person in power who was against it because he thought AEW was WCW, a company out to kill him and put him out of business. Once he realized that AEW was never actually a threat, he laid down his arms.

Someone talked sense into him and Nick has openly talked about working with “anyone and everyone” on conference calls, this carny wrestling bullshit war doesn’t mean shit to Nick.

I forgot to mention that an NBC Universal executive was invited to Bischoff’s podcast to shit on AEW but instead praised it and spoke glowingly about it. There’s no war anymore, the war exists only in the minds of the fans.

        >AEW is WCW 2.0
This mentality still hasn't disappeared. It's the basis for everyone that legit believed and still believes that AEW will go under in x amount of years. It's fricking dumb.
Vince eventually saw it for the alternative it is. He let the "wrestlers" go and went 100% into the sports entertainment route, which is actually working, with WWE's TV currently more acclaimed than it's been in 10 years or more while AEW operates as a slightly more traditional pro wrestling promotion. The business is pretty balanced and in a good place right now between the two of them.

          Anonymous

I think this is spot on honestly, and it's made WWE better at least. I don't actually watch AEW but I assume it must be pretty good now with people like Cesaro in a workrate fed.

            Anonymous

Yep. Regardless of which one you like or if you watch both, most bases are covered and everything seems pretty balanced. It's honestly kind of weird looking back at Vince's "Maybe I'll send them a couple more" comment, like he was already thinking along these lines. AEW didn't force WWE to "book better", it just kind of became the pro wrestling promotion and WWE adjusted by just going full on sports entertainment. It's working for both, business is good, both are selling out arenas everywhere and doing good television, have a lot of people talking all the time. It's kind of crazy how it's all turning out.

that bar is so fricking low that it means nothing. the best thing they've done is the zeke angle which they put KO in as a rib and like most everything else he turns it into gold.

          >would actually like to see what roman can do in a match kenny is in charge of.

This is the one advantage for WWE's love of the no contest. If there was a crossover show you'd get the dream matches but they'd all be no contests. My guess is they'd try and work a "power vs cardio" angle where Kenny tries to outlast him.

Hayter's not an anti draw. To the people who know of her she's quite popular. It looks like she hits hard (probably is), she can wrestle, work, cut a promo, and imo she has a really nice ass, especially when she wears the thigh straps. She really should be pushed for a title run one day.

AEW would benefit a lot more, unless WWE wanted to reposition itself as a semi-serious wrestling company

      Anonymous

Both companies would benefit immensely. WWE can get back the hundreds of thousands of fans they’ve run off in the past few years and AEW would do around 1.7 million viewers every week if we had crazy Invasion angles, like Roman showing up on Dynamite and laying out some of the AEW roster. WWE would also put to rest the theory that they don’t play nice with other companies.

Vince tried as hard as he possibly could to kill AEW and now that it’s clearly not going to happen, he might as well be a partner promotion to AEW. He can’t kill them, that much is clear. Counter-programming didn’t work, calling up sponsors didn’t work, running the same arenas first didn’t work, he might as well put his ego aside and give fans what they want.

Both have their respective audiences and both are dominating the cable charts aside from big playoff sports. People can wrestle in WWE without having to be chained to an exclusive contract. Cody himself probably tried smoothing things over between both promotions.

I thought this was reasonable until you mentioned Forbidden Door with a straight face.

At this point it behooves WWE, AEW, TNA etc. to work together as much as possible. Wrestling's time in the cultural wheelhouse is done and with the current recession possibly leading to a Depression, no one has money to do shit right now.

The smartest company will be taking a hard look at and making adjustments for the worst case scenario in order to survive right now. Part of that is full cooperation with a "business rival".

I'm telling ya guys. You think shits bad right now, just wait.

why the frick would wrestling promotions during a "depression" work together, subsequently splitting profits, over being more cut throat than ever before? reality is in a situation like that they'd all be fighting to be sold to a larger conglomerate who can fund them through a down economic period.
